Reminiscence therapy relieves anxiety, depression and boosts spiritual well-being in both stroke patients and their spouse caregivers: a randomized, controlled study : Reminiscence therapy in stroke patients/caregivers.
Reminiscence therapy (RT) is a common nursing care program to ameliorate psychological disorders, while its application in stroke patients and their spouse caregivers is rare. Thus, this randomized, controlled study intended to investigate the influence of RT on anxiety, depression, and spiritual well-being in these individuals. ⋯ RT relieves anxiety, depression and boosts spiritual well-being in both stroke patients and their spouse caregivers.

Implication of cognitive-behavioral stress management on anxiety, depression, and quality of life in acute myocardial infarction patients after percutaneous coronary intervention: a multicenter, randomized, controlled study.
Cognitive-behavioral stress management (CBSM) intervention enhances the psychological status and quality of life in patients with various diseases, such as cancer, human immunodeficiency virus infection, chronic fatigue syndrome, and multiple sclerosis. This multicenter, randomized, controlled study intended to explore the potential benefit of CBSM in ameliorating the anxiety, depression, and quality of life (QoL) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). ⋯ CBSM ameliorates anxiety, depression, and QoL but does not affect MACE in AMI patients after PCI.

Effects of balance training on cognitive function and activities of daily living in older adult patients with heart failure: a randomized controlled trial.
The potential of the effect of balance training on improving cognitive functions and functional activities in vulnerable groups, including the older adults with heart failure (HF), is unknown. ⋯ The results suggested that home-based balance training led by nurse can improve global cognitive function and basic ADL and IADL in the older adults with HF.

Erectile dysfunction and metabolic syndrome components in obese men with psoriasis: response to a 12-week randomized controlled lifestyle modification program (exercise with diet restriction).
Erectile dysfunction (ED) and metabolic syndrome (MeTS) are highly prevalent in chronic plaque psoriasis (CPP). ⋯ A 12-week lifestyle modification program as a tool for weight loss in obese men with CPP is a good therapeutic method to improve psoriasis severity and psoriasis-associated ED and MeTS.

Cardiorespiratory responses: Pilates compared to different walking speeds in healthy adults.
The impact of a single-session Pilates exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness and metabolic parameters is still uncertain. ⋯ The cardiopulmonary responses to a single Pilates session are similar to walking at a speed of 3.2 kph but lower than walking at 4.8 kph. These results indicate that while Pilates may not generate sufficient cardiopulmonary changes to enhance cardiorespiratory fitness as a moderate-intensity exercise in healthy young adults, it may still offer other benefits such as improvements in flexibility, core strength, and posture.
