The influence of esmolol on septic shock and sepsis: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.
Esmolol may have some potential in treating septic shock and sepsis. However, the results remain controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the efficacy of esmolol in patients with septic shock and sepsis. ⋯ Esmolol treatment may be able to improve survival rate, and reduce heart rate and TnI, but has no influence on MAP, CVP and ScvO2 in patients with septic shock and sepsis.

Xuebijing combined with ulinastation benefits patients with sepsis: A meta-analysis.
The potential benefits and possible risks associated with Xuebijing when combined with ulinastatin for sepsis treatment are not fully understood. ⋯ Our results found that Xuebijing when combined with ulinastatin was superior to both routine therapies and the single administration of either ulinastatin or Xuebijing. This finding provides a new therapeutic option for the treatment of sepsis.

Cardiac arrest management primarily focuses on optimal chest compressions and early defibrillation for shockable cardiac rhythms. Non-shockable rhythms such as pulseless electrical activity (PEA) and asystole present challenges in management. Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in cardiac arrest is promising. ⋯ POCUS is a valuable diagnostic and prognostic tool in cardiac arrest, with recent literature supporting its diagnostic ability. TTE can guide resuscitation efforts dependent on the rhythm, though TTE should not interrupt other resuscitation measures. TEE can be useful during arrest, but further studies based in the ED are needed.
