Case Reports
Retropharyngeal hematoma mimicking angioedema after intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke.
Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) is a cornerstone treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Administration of tPA is not without risk, and can provoke life threatening adverse reactions. Retropharyngeal hematoma (RPH) following tPA administration has only been reported after tenecteplase (TNK) administration for ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). ⋯ Following administration of tPA, this patient developed acute signs and symptoms of what appeared to be a more well-known adverse reaction of tPA administration - angioedema. After CT and laboratory findings, our patient received cryoprecipitate for tPA reversal. Our case highlights a unique case of RPH mimicking angioedema following tPA administration.

Case Reports
Allergic myocardial infarction (Kounis Syndrome)- non-ST elevation MI following Omnipaque contrast.
Kounis Syndrome is an acute coronary syndrome in the setting of mast cell activation. Mast cell activation can be due to anaphylaxis, anaphylactoid reaction, allergies, or hypersensitivities. Three reported variants of Kounis Syndrome include: vasospastic allergic angina, allergic myocardial infarction, and stent thrombosis. Herein, we described a case of Type 2 Kounis Syndrome following iodinated contrast infusion for a fistulogram, which manifested as a rare non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).

Review Meta Analysis
Cervical spine injuries in adults ≥ 65 years after low-level falls - A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Adults ≥ 65 are at risk of cervical spine (C-spine) injury, even after low-level falls. The objectives of this systematic review were to determine the prevalence of C-spine injury in this population and explore the association of unreliable clinical exam with C-spine injury. ⋯ Adults ≥ 65 years are at risk of cervical spine injury after low-level falls. More research is needed to determine whether there is an association between cervical spine injury and GCS < 15 or altered level of consciousness.

Toxic alcohol ingestion is a rare but serious condition that carries with it a high rate of morbidity and mortality. ⋯ An understanding of toxic alcohol ingestion can assist emergency clinicians in diagnosing and managing this potentially deadly disease.
