This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of diabetes self-management education (DSME) in reducing glycosylated hemoglobin (A1C) levels in adult Latinos with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). ⋯ The heterogeneity in the study methodologies reinforce the need for additional studies to better understand DSME interventions to reduce disparities in Latino adults with T2DM.

Self-management program for chronic low back pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To determine the effectiveness of self-management programs (SMPs) on chronic low back pain (CLBP). ⋯ SMP can be regarded as an effective approach for CLBP management. In addition to face-to-face mode, internet-based strategy can also be considered as a useful option to deliver SMP. Theoretically driven programs are preferred.

Identifying components of self-management interventions that improve health-related quality of life in chronically ill patients: Systematic review and meta-regression analysis.
To quantify diversity in components of self-management interventions and explore which components are associated with improvement in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ Future research should address process evaluations and study response to self-management on the level of individual patients.

To evaluate the effectiveness of self-management programs on pain and disability for chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions by systematic review. ⋯ Self-management is a safe, community-based and effective way for patients with arthritis to manage pain and disability. Core skills of self-management should be delivered using multiple approaches.

To systematically find and synthesise qualitative studies that elicited views and experiences of nurses involved in the delivery of health behaviour change (HBC) interventions in primary care, with a focus on how this can inform enhanced delivery and adherence to a structured approach for HBC interventions. ⋯ The findings can be used to inform strategies for researchers, policymakers and healthcare providers to enhance fidelity and support delivery of HBC interventions.
