Encephalopathy and encephalitis during acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. Spanish Society of Neurology COVID-19 Registry.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Spanish Society of Neurology has run a registry of patients with neurological involvement for the purpose of informing clinical neurologists. Encephalopathy and encephalitis were among the most frequently reported complications. In this study, we analyse the characteristics of these complications. ⋯ Encephalopathy and encephalitis are among the complications most frequently reported in the registry. More than one-third of patients presented mild or moderate confusional syndrome. The mean time from onset of infection to onset of neurological symptoms was 8 days (up to 24hours earlier in women than in men). EEG was the most sensitive test in these patients, with very few cases presenting alterations in neuroimaging studies. All patients treated with boluses of corticosteroids or immunoglobulins progressed favourably.

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on headache management in Spain: an analysis of the current situation and future perspectives.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a great impact on healthcare systems. Spain, where headache is the main reason for outpatient neurology consultation, is one of the countries with the most reported cases of the disease. ⋯ As a consequence of the pandemic, headache care and research activity has reduced considerably. This demonstrates the need for an increase in the availability of telemedicine in our centres in the near future.

Use of the PRIMUS scale to assess quality of life in a Spanish population of multiple sclerosis patients.
Symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) are associated with significant and progressive functional disability and have a profound impact on patients' quality of life (QoL). QoL and daily life activities are two areas that suffer major changes during the course of MS and there are currently no questionnaires specifically designed to evaluate these areas in MS patients. ⋯ QoL in MS patients varies according to the disease type, and it worsens progressively over time and with increasing disability. The PRIMUS questionnaire is a good tool for assessing QoL and activity in patients with MS.

PRACTIC is an observational, epidemiological, multi-center, prospective registry of patients admitted to the emergency room with acute stroke. We aim to study the impact of admission to a specialized neurology ward, either a Stroke Unit or by a Stroke Team, on several outcomes. ⋯ in stroke patients, specialized neurological care, either in a Stroke Unit or by a Stroke Team, decreases mortality and hospital complications, thus lowering disability. A better outcome is sustained at 6 months when patients were admitted to an SNW. They have better functional status and lower rate of stroke or other vascular event recurrence. These data reinforce the need for specialized neurological hospital care for stroke patients.

[Global adherence project to disease-modifying therapies in patients with relapsing multiple sclerosis: 2-year interim results].
In this article we report adherence data from the first 2 years in a subset of patients from the Global Adherence Project (GAP; n=2,648) in Spain. ⋯ Adherence remained high over the first 2 years of the study. It was highest with Avonex®, being significant on first assessment, after 40.5 months of therapy, on average compared with other DMTs and at year 1 compared with Rebif®22.
