ReviewInfluence of axial limb rotation on radiographic lower limb alignment: a systematic review.
The influence of limb malrotation on long-leg radiographs (LLR) is frequently discussed in literature. This systematic review aimed to describe the influence of limb rotation on alignment measurements alone and in combination with knee flexion, and determine its clinical impact. ⋯ Malrotation is frequently present on LLR, possibly influencing the measured alignment especially in knees with extension deficit. Surgeons must consider this when measuring and treating deformities (high tibial osteotomy or total knee arthroplasties), and analyzing surgical outcomes. Especially in patients with osteoarthritis with knee extension deficits or postoperative swelling, the effect of malrotation is significantly greater.

Total knee arthroplasty after a prior knee arthroscopy has higher complication rates: a systematic review.
This article aimed to study in a systematic manner outcomes and complication rates after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in patients who have undergone a prior knee arthroscopy for osteoarthritis. Our hypothesis was that a prior knee arthroscopy may be detrimental to the outcomes of knee arthroplasty in the future. ⋯ III.

ReviewTalus morphology differs between flatfeet and controls, but its variety has no influence on extent of surgical deformity correction.
Progressive collapsing foot deformity (PCFD) is a complex 3-dimensional (3-D) deformity with varying degrees of hindfoot valgus, forefoot abduction, and midfoot varus. The first aim of this study was to perform a 3-D analysis of the talus morphology between symptomatic PCFD patients that underwent operative flatfoot correction and controls. The second aim was to investigate if there is an impact of individual talus morphology on the success of operative flatfoot correction. ⋯ III.

Evaluation of the balance function before and after total knee arthroplasty using Berg balance scale.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate balance function before and after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using Berg balance scale (BBS). The study also aimed to identify factors associated with balance impairment. ⋯ While TKA significantly improved BBS scores, 10% of the patients remained at a risk for multiple falls. RA, lower pre-operative BBS score, and post-operative knee flexion contracture greater than 10° retained balance impairment even after TKA.

Early versus delayed surgery for hip fragility fractures in patients treated with direct oral anticoagulants.
Delaying surgical treatment for hip fragility fractures increases mortality, but early intervention in patients treated with direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) may increase the risk of perioperative blood loss due to residual drug activity. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the timing of hip fragility fractures surgeries in patients treated with DOAC. ⋯ Early surgery did not increase perioperative blood loss. Delayed surgery ≥ 48 h of patients receiving DOAC who underwent surgery for hip fragility fractures showed a trend towards increased 30 day and 90 day mortality.
