Noncontrast versus perfusion CT to select endovascular therapy in an extended time window: Systematic review/meta-analysis.
The effect of noncontrast CT (NCCT) on the eligibility for endovascular therapy (EVT) in an extended time window remains to be elucidated. We sought to assess the efficacy and safety of NCCT in comparison with CT perfusion (CTP) in selecting patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) for EVT 6-24 hours after onset. ⋯ These findings suggest that NCCT is as effective as CTP in selecting patients for EVT in an extended time window.

Very preterm infants (VPIs, <32 weeks gestational age at birth) are prone to long-term neurological deficits. While the effects of birth weight and postnatal growth on VPIs' neurological outcome are well established, the neurobiological mechanism behind these associations remains elusive. In this study, we utilized diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to characterize how birth weight and postnatal weight gain influence VPIs' white matter (WM) maturation. ⋯ In VPIs, birth weight and post-natal weight gain are associated with markers of brain WM maturation, particularly in the corpus callosum, which can be captured on discharge MRI. These neuroimaging metrics can serve as potential biomarkers for the early effects of nutritional interventions on VPIs' brain development.

Predicting functional outcomes after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is of interest to patients and families as they navigate hospital and post-acute care decision-making. We evaluated the prognostic ability of several scales to predict good neurological function after EVT. ⋯ CLEOS predicts independent and excellent neurological function after anterior circulation EVT.

This study was dedicated to investigating the agreement of the calculated results of two CT perfusion (CTP) postprocessing software packages, including parameter maps and ischemic volume, focusing on the infarct core volume (ICV) and penumbra volume (PV). ⋯ The image analysis results of AccuCTP are in excellent agreement with RAPID CTP and can be used as an alternative analysis tool to RAPID CTP software in stroke clinical practice.

To assess the feasibility of 3-dimensional stereotactic surface projection (3D-SSP) as applied to arterial spin labeling (ASL) in a clinical pilot study. ⋯ Three-dimensional SSP maps are feasible in a clinical population and enable quantitative data extraction and localization of perfusion abnormalities by means of stereotactic coordinates in a condensed display. The proposed method is a promising approach for interpreting cerebrovascular pathophysiology.
