To comprehensively summarize the radiological characteristics of sinonasal tract angiofibroma (STA) (commonly known as juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma). ⋯ We summarized the MRI findings of STA that can facilitate timely diagnosis and appropriate management.

In deep brain stimulation (DBS), accurate electrode placement is essential for optimizing patient outcomes. Localizing electrodes enables insight into therapeutic outcomes and development of metrics for use in clinical trials. Methods of defining anatomical targets have been described with varying accuracy and objectivity. To assess variability in anatomical targeting, we compare four methods of defining an appropriate target for DBS of the subthalamic nucleus for Parkinson's disease. ⋯ All methods were similarly discordant in their relative accuracy, despite having significant technical differences in their application. The differing protocols and technical aspects of each method, however, have the implication that one may be more practical depending on the clinical or research application at hand.

CT perfusion (CTP) imaging is now widely used to select patients with large vessel occlusions for mechanical thrombectomy. Ghost infarct core (GIC) phenomenon has been coined to describe CTP core overestimation and has been investigated in several retrospective studies. Our aim is to review the frequency, magnitude, and variables associated with this phenomenon. ⋯ CTP ischemic core overestimation appears to be a relatively common phenomenon that is most frequent in patients with poor collaterals imaged within the acute time window. Early perfusion imaging should be interpreted with caution to prevent the inadvertent exclusion of patients from highly effective reperfusion therapies.

The diagnostic value of vertebral artery foraminal segment (V2) ultrasonography remains unclear. This study aimed to estimate the predictive value of V2 Doppler imaging for the detection of vertebrobasilar stenosis or occlusion. ⋯ The low sensitivity seems to be due to the high prevalence of non-V2 lesions not detected on V2 Doppler imaging, suggesting the necessity for a more extensive sonographic examination beyond V2. However, PPV and NPV ≥80% may suggest its usefulness in clinical practice.

Elevated mean flow velocity (MFV) on transcranial Doppler (TCD) is used to predict vasospasm after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Hyperemia should be considered when observing elevated MFV. Lindegaard ratio (LR) is commonly used but does not enhance predictive values. We introduce a new marker, the hyperemia index (HI), calculated as bilateral extracranial internal carotid artery MFV divided by initial flow velocity. ⋯ Lower HI was associated with a higher likelihood of vasospasm and DCI. HI <1.2 may serve as a useful TCD parameter to indicate vasospasm and DCI when elevated MFV is observed, or when transtemporal windows are inadequate.
