Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy is potentially associated with treatment-related toxicities mainly consisting of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune-effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS). We evaluated brain metabolic correlates of CRS with and without ICANS in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients treated with CAR-T. ⋯ Patients with ICANS are characterized by a frontolateral hypometabolic signature coherently with the hypothesis of ICANS as a predominant frontal syndrome and with the more prominent susceptibility of frontal lobes to cytokine-induced inflammation.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) results in the loss of motor and sensory function from disconnections between efferent and afferent pathways. Most SCI patients are affected with chronic neuropathic pain, but there is a paucity of data concerning neuroplastic changes following SCI. Chronic pain disrupts default networks and is associated with abnormal insular connectivity. The posterior insula (PI) is associated with the degree of pain and intensity of pain. The anterior insula (AI) is related to signal changes. Comprehension of SCI pain mechanisms is essential to elucidate effective treatment options. ⋯ These findings illustrate that there is a complex hyperconnectivity and modulation of pain pathways after traumatic SCI.

11 C-Methionine (MET)-PET is a useful tool in neuro-oncology. This study aimed to examine whether a combination of diagnostic variables associated with MET uptake could help distinguish between brain lesions that are often difficult to discriminate in conventional CT and MRI. ⋯ According to the findings, combining the five diagnostic criteria could help with the differential diagnosis of the five brain lesions. MET-PET is an auxiliary diagnostic technique that could help in distinguishing these five brain lesions.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate advanced MRI findings in the bilateral hippocampus CA1 region of rats with hemorrhagic shock reperfusion (HSR) and their correlation with histopathological results. Additionally, this study aimed to identify effective MRI examination methods and detection indexes for assessing HSR. ⋯ Advanced MRI metrics from DKI and 3D-ASL, including CBF, FA, Ka, Kr, and MK values, are useful to evaluate abnormal blood perfusion and microstructural changes in the hippocampus CA1 area in the setting of incomplete cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats induced by HSR.
