Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of peritonsillar infiltration effects of ketamine and tramadol on post tonsillectomy pain: a double-blinded randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial.
To assess the effect of peritonsillar infiltration of ketamine and tramadol on post tonsillectomy pain and compare the side effects. ⋯ Preoperative peritonsillar infiltration of tramadol can decrease post-tonsillectomy pain, analgesic consumption, and the time to recovery without significant side effects.

Randomized Controlled TrialEducating adolescents about healthy sleep: experimental study of effectiveness of educational leaflet.
To evaluate how exposure to educational leaflet about healthy sleep affects knowledge about sleep in adolescents. ⋯ Educational leaflets can be an effective first step in educating younger high school students about healthy sleep, with the method being more effective in female adolescents.

Randomized Controlled TrialEarly cardioprotective effect of sevoflurane on left ventricular performance during coronary artery bypass grafting on a beating heart: randomized controlled study.
To evaluate the cardioprotective effect of sevoflurane on a beating heart in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting with normal preoperative left ventricular function. ⋯ Cardiac function was better preserved in the patients anesthetized with sevoflurane than in patients anesthetized with propofol.

Randomized Controlled TrialChronic obstructive pulmonary disease and weaning of difficult-to-wean patients from mechanical ventilation: randomized prospective study.
To compare T-tube and pressure support ventilation (PSV) as two methods of mechanical ventilation weaning of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) after failed extubation. ⋯ Patients with COPD who failed the 2-hour spontaneous breathing trial had more favorable outcome when PVS rather than T-tube method was used for weaning from mechanical ventilation.
