Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of perioperative complications and health-related quality of life between robot-assisted and open radical cystectomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To compare postoperative complications and health-related quality of life of patients undergoing robot-assisted radical cystectomy with those of patients undergoing open radical cystectomy. A systematic search was carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement. A pooled meta-analysis was carried out to assess the differences between robot-assisted radical cystectomy and open radical cystectomy according to randomized and non-randomized comparative studies, respectively. ⋯ There is no difference in complications, length of stay, mortality, and quality of life between robot-assisted radical cystectomy and open radical cystectomy. Data from non-randomized comparative studies favor perioperative outcomes in robot-assisted radical cystectomy patients, the failure to confirm in randomized comparative studies, likely due to bias in study design and reporting. Further randomized comparative studies comparing postoperative complications and quality of life between robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal urinary diversion and open radical cystectomy are required to assess potential differences between these two surgical approaches.

Review Meta Analysis
Addition of intrarectal local analgesia to periprostatic nerve block improves pain control for transrectal ultrasonography-guided prostate biopsy: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of combined intrarectal local analgesia and periprostatic nerve block versus periprostatic nerve block alone for pain control during transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy. ⋯ Combined modalities show better analgesic efficacy than periprostatic nerve block alone for transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy without increased morbidities. Among the various local analgesics, lidocaine-prilocaine cream seems to offer the best overall efficacy.

Review Meta Analysis
The role of cytoreductive nephrectomy in the era of molecular targeted therapy.
While the widespread use of imaging has resulted in an increasing number of incidentally detected renal cancers, up to one third of patients present with metastatic disease and a significant number of those with clinically localized disease subsequently develop metastasis. The prognosis for patients with metastatic disease has traditionally been poor, with a 2-year survival of only 10 to 20%. ⋯ Meanwhile, the recent introduction of molecular targeted agents has resulted in improved response rates and tolerability compared with immunotherapy, and has prompted a re-evaluation of the role and timing of surgery in patients with advanced disease. This review examines the role of surgical therapy for patients with metastatic disease in the new era of molecular targeted therapy.
