Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEfficacy and safety of levocetirizine in improving symptoms and health-related quality of life in US adults with seasonal allergic rhinitis: a randomized, placebo-controlled study.
Levocetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine for symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria, has not been previously studied in US patients. ⋯ Levocetirizine was well tolerated and was significantly more effective than placebo in improving the naso-ocular symptoms and health-related quality of life in US patients with SAR.

To review the effect of increasing age on the immune system and some of its clinical implications. ⋯ The process of aging is accompanied by diverse changes in immunity. Several therapeutic approaches are under investigation, including cytokine therapy, hormonal replacement, antioxidant supplementation, and caloric restriction, to attenuate or potentially reverse immunosenescence.
