Medical device-integrated electronic medical records (MDI-EMR) pose significant challenges in ensuring effective usage, data security and patient safety. The complexities of MDI-EMR necessitate applying various security mechanisms to safeguard against cyber threats. Therefore, we evaluated cyber threats to MDI-EMR and the effectiveness of applied security controls using a proposed framework from sociotechnical and risk assessment perspectives. ⋯ Collaboration among the key stakeholders is crucial for implementing security controls for MDI-EMR. Balancing security measures with usability concerns is essential, as highlighted by challenges in implementing technical controls. A comprehensive approach encompassing physical, technical and administrative controls, continuous education and awareness initiatives are significant to empower staff in recognising and mitigating cyber threats effectively to safeguard medical data and ensure the integrity of healthcare systems.

Women's Lives and Birth Experiences Are Important! Evaluation of Women's Perceptions of Respectful Maternal Care: The Mother-Friendly Hospital Difference.
The aim of this study is to determine women's perceptions of respectful maternity care, the effect of giving birth in a mother-friendly hospital on this perception and other factors affecting this perception. ⋯ It was determined that women's perception of respectful maternity care was highly positive, and the factors affecting this perception were delivery in a mother-friendly hospital and educational level. The current study may contribute to the development of policies for the dissemination of mother-friendly practices and the provision of respectful birth services, and may also support efforts to improve the quality of care.

Chronic respiratory disorders such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may deteriorate into acute exacerbations requiring hospitalization. Assessing the predictors of prolonged hospital stays could help identify potential interventions to reduce the burden on patients and healthcare systems. ⋯ Gender, pulmonary hypertension, allergic rhinitis, ICU admission, mechanical ventilation, the number of medications and smoking were significantly related to LOS. These findings emphasize the importance of patients' demographics and their clinical status in determining LOS, hence providing protective interventions to shorten it.

Identifying whether perceived stigma or personal stigma more significantly affects nurses' attitudes towards seeking psychological help is essential for effectively addressing current challenges and facilitating early intervention for the well-being of nurses and their patients. ⋯ High levels of personal stigma negatively affect attitudes towards seeking psychological help; however, when considered alongside working in oncology and having a chronic illness, the impact of personal stigma becomes positive. Future research should delve deeper into these dynamics to develop targeted strategies for reducing personal stigma and enhancing help-seeking behaviors among nurses. Interventions are necessary to foster positive help-seeking attitudes among nurses and reduce stigma. Aligned with the findings of this study, training and awareness initiatives aimed at improving mental health literacy among nurses can play a pivotal role in reducing stigma and encouraging proactive use of mental health resources.

3D Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3D-MRI) analysis of brain tumours is an important tool for gathering information needed for diagnosis and disease therapy planning. However, during the brain tumor segmentation process existing techniques have segmentation error while identifying tumor location and extended tumor regions due to improper extraction of initial contour points and overlapping tissue intensity distributions. ⋯ The results obtained for the BraTS2020 and Brain Tumor Detection 2020 data sets showed that the proposed model outperforms existing techniques with excellent precision of 97%, 97.5%, recall of 99%, 97.8%, and accuracy of 95.7%, 98.4%, respectively.
