Prevalence and Predictors of Polypharmacy in Jordanian Hospitalized Patients: A cross-sectional Study.
This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and predictors of polypharmacy in hospitalised patients in Jordan to help guide healthcare efforts in decreasing the burden on the healthcare system. ⋯ The present study showed that polypharmacy is prevalent among patients in Jordan. While polypharmacy was not affected by smoking status, gender, BMI and educational level, it was significantly affected by monthly income and age. Further plans should be put in place to reduce polypharmacy, starting with effective pharmaceutical care services leading to treatment optimisation and ensuring desired treatment outcomes.

The role of pleural fluid Thiol/Disulfide Homeostasis in the differentiation between transudative and exudative pleural effusions.
In the present study, we aimed to differentiate between transudative and exudative pleural effusions using thiol sulphide homoeostasis, an oxidative stress marker. ⋯ We believe that a differentiation can be made between transudative and exudative pleural fluids by using thiol sulphide homoeostasis, an oxidative stress marker.

Fear of COVID-19 and Stigmatization toward Infected People among Jordanian People.
This study aims to explore the prevalence rates of stigma and fear among people in Jordan during COVID-19 pandemic and to assess socio-demographic and personal factors contributing to the prevalence rates of fear and stigma among people in Jordan during COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ More than 50% of the respondents were afraid from COVID-19 and 64% had stigma towards infected people and their contact during the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study highlights the need for an intervention that provides psychological support to citizens during the pandemic.

Vitamin D level in a sample of Egyptian Females of Childbearing Age Attending a Family Medicine Center.
Vitamin D deficiency is now recognised as a pandemic. The normal range of Vitamin D in the Arab countries is much lower than the international standards. Several Arab countries have published studies assessing serum Vitamin D levels among women--to date there is no national study assessing Vitamin D levels among Egyptian women. ⋯ Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency are prevalent among Egyptian women of childbearing age. A routine monitoring screening for Vitamin D deficiency and Vitamin D health education are required to minimise risk factors among women of childbearing age.

Comparison of Patients' Diagnoses in a Dermatology Outpatient Clinic During the COVID-19 Pandemic Period and Pre-pandemic Period.
In this study, we compared the current diagnoses of patients admitted to the dermatology outpatient clinic with the diagnoses during the non-pandemic period, and we examined the effect of COVID-19 on the patient profile. ⋯ Unlike other studies, the present study evaluated the patient diagnoses during the pandemic period and the period a year before and discussed the possible reasons for the changes in patient profiles.
