ReviewDo morbidity measures predict decline of activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living among older inpatients? A systematic review.
Older adults often suffer from multimorbidity, which results in hospitalisations. These are often associated with poor health outcomes such as functional dependence and mortality. The aim of this review was to summarise the current literature on the capacities of morbidity measures in predicting activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) amongst inpatients. ⋯ Morbidity measures are poor predictors for ADL or IADL decline amongst older inpatients and follow-up duration does not alter the performance of morbidity measures.

Meta AnalysisSafety and Efficacy of High Power Shorter duration Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Radiofrequency ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) is effective but hampered by pulmonary veins reconnection because of insufficient lesions. High power shorter duration ablation (HPSD) was seen to increase efficacy and safety. This analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical benefits of HPSD in patients with AF. ⋯ HPSD was safe and efficient for treating AF with clear advantages of procedural features, it also showed benefits of higher first-pass PVI and reducing recurrence of atrial arrhythmias compared with the LPLD. Moreover, major complications and ETI were similar between two groups.

ReviewShifting the treatment paradigm in idiopathic overactive bladder.
Overactive Bladder (OAB) is a common condition that is known to have a significant impact on Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL). Whilst all patients will initially benefit from lifestyle modifications and behavioural therapy in the first instance drug therapy remains integral in management pathways. The purpose of this review paper is to reappraise the evidence based approach to the management of OAB in addition to exploring a new treatment algorithm for the escalation of treatment in those patients with refractory symptoms. ⋯ We propose a new, evidence based, treatment algorithm for the management of OAB in patients who remain refractory to first line therapy.

Review Meta AnalysisSerum lipids and the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The role of serum lipids in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD) remains unclear, and the results of previous reports remain conflicting. We aimed to conduct this systematic review and meta-analysis to identify the potential relationships of blood lipids and the pathogenesis of PD. ⋯ TG serum levels are significantly lower in PD patients, more studies are needed to further elucidate role of lipid in the PD development.
