A Cut-Off value for the operation time and the other risk factors in terms of the infection risk for flexible ureterorenoscopy.
To investigate the operation time (OT) and ureteral access sheath (UAS) usage with the infection rates and to determine a cut-off value for OT. ⋯ While the infection risk increases when OT exceeds 60 minutes, FURS can be safely performed up to 87.5 minutes with 89% sensitivity and 69% specificity infection risk.

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease diagnosed by transient elastography and liver biopsy.
We aimed to determine if there was a higher incidence of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) than in patients without NAFLD. Moreover, we assessed whether patients with significant fibrosis (SF) had a higher incidence of SIBO compared with patients with non-significant or no liver fibrosis. ⋯ In this relatively large population of patients, we used a gold standard for both SIBO (quantitative culture of duodenum's descending part aspirate) and NAFLD (LB), and we demonstrated that NASH patients and those with SF had a higher incidence of SIBO. Moreover, significant predictors independently associated with SIBO were T2DM, fibrosis stage and ballooning grade. Although TE is a well-investigated method for steatosis and fibrosis detection, in our study, independent predictors of SIBO were histological characteristics of NAFLD, while elastographic parameters did not reach statistical significance.

The First national survey on Practices of Neurological Prognostication after Cardiac Arrest in China, still a lot to do.
To investigate current awareness and practices of neurological prognostication in comatose cardiac arrest (CA) patients. ⋯ Neurological prognostication in CA survivors had not been well understood and performed by emergency physicians in China. They were more likely to use clinical examination rather than objective tools, especially SSEP and EEG, which also illustrated that multimodal approach was not well performed in practice.

Comparison of the Efficacy of Silodosin and a Terpene Combination in the Medical Expulsive Therapy of Distal Ureteral Stones.
We aimed to compare the efficacy of silodosin and a terpene combination in the treatment of distal ureteral stones. ⋯ The treatment of distal ureteral stones with silodosin is as effective as the terpene combination. However, the terpene combination is more effective than silodosin in managing pain and accelerating stone expulsion.

Association between different screening strategies for SARS-CoV-2 and deaths and severe disease in Italy.
The WHO recommends testing any suspected person with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), in order to limit the spread of the epidemic. In Italy, some Regions opted for extensive testing, whereas others limited tests to selected subjects. To assess the influence of different strategies, we examined the incidence of death and severe cases in Italy. ⋯ A more aggressive screening strategy for SARS-Cov-2, was associated with lower rates of death and severe disease in Regions of Italy.
