The Impact of Charlson Comorbidity Index on mortality from SARS-CoV-2 virus infection and A novel COVID 19 mortality index: CoLACD.
The aim of this study is to find out the potential risk factors including charlson comorbidity index (CCI) score associated with death in COVID-19 patients hospitalised because of pneumonia and try to find a novel COVID-19 mortality score for daily use. ⋯ This study showed that by using the CoLACD mortality score, clinicians may achieve a prediction of mortality in COVID-19 patients hospitalised for pneumonia.

Development of a novel risk score for the prediction of critical illness amongst COVID-19 patients.
Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) is associated with various clinical manifestations, ranging from asymptomatic infection to critical illness. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and laboratory characteristics of hospitalised COVID-19 patients and construct a predictive model for the discrimination of patients at risk of disease progression. ⋯ A10-variable risk score was constructed based on clinical and laboratory characteristics in order to predict critical illness amongst hospitalised COVID-19 patients, achieving better discrimination compared with traditional pneumonia severity scores. The proposed risk model should be externally validated in independent cohorts in order to ensure its prognostic efficacy.

Diffusion Tensor Imaging in early prediction of renal fibrosis in patients with renal disease: Functional and histopathological correlations.
Renal fibrosis (RF) is a well-known marker of chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. However, renal biopsy is an available tool for evaluation of RF, non-invasive tools are needed not only to detect but also to monitor the progression of fibrosis. The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in the assessment of renal dysfunction and RF in patients with renal disease. ⋯ DTI appears to represent a valuable tool for the non-invasive assessment of renal dysfunction and renal fibrosis.
