Meta AnalysisEffectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for mental Illness in cancer patients: A systematic Review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Disease awareness is an important aspect of psychological adjustment in cancer patients; however, there is limited evidence that acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is recommended for the treatment of mental illness in cancer patients. ⋯ ACT can be an important component of future cancer care, as it may alleviate depression, anxiety, stress, and fear, and improve quality of life. However, further research is required to determine long-term treatment effects. High-quality RCTs are needed to more reliably estimate treatment effects.

ReviewNonpharmacologic Treatment of Insomnia in Primary Care Settings.
Prevalence of insomnia is higher in females and increases with higher age. Besides primary insomnia, comorbid sleep disorders are also common, accompanying different conditions. Considering the possible adverse effects of commonly used drugs to promote sleep, a non-pharmacologic approach should be preferred in most cases. Although generally considered first-line treatment, the non-pharmacologic approach is often underestimated by both patients and physicians. ⋯ This paper provides an overview of current recommendations and up-to-date evidence for the non-pharmacologic treatment of insomnia. This article emphasizes the importance of cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia, likewise, exercise and relaxation techniques. Complementary and alternative approaches are also covered, eg, light therapy, aromatherapy, music therapy, and herbal medicine.

National early warning score to predict intensive care unit transfer and mortality in COVID-19 in a French cohort.
No risk stratification tool has been validated in hospitalised patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), despite a high rate of intensive care requirement and in-hospital mortality. We aimed to determine whether the National Early Warning Score (NEWS) at admission can accurately predict in-hospital mortality and ICU transfer. ⋯ In hospitalised COVID-19 patients, NEWS was an independent predictor of ICU transfer and in-hospital death. In daily practice, NEWS ≥ 6 at admission may help to identify patients who are at risk to deteriorate.

Multicenter StudyThe effect of secukinumab treatment on inflammatory parameters in patients with psoriasis: A multicentre restrospective study.
Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the skin with remission and relapses. The aim of this study was to investigate the change in inflammatory parameters such as neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and mean platelet volume (MPV) in patients receiving secukinumab treatment for psoriasis vulgaris (PV). ⋯ In conclusion, it can be concluded that parameters such as NLR, PLR and MPV are not suitable parameters for monitoring the effects of secukinumab treatment on inflammation.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effect of Clip-tone® and its smartphone application on optimization of metered-dose inhalers inhalation technique.
Although metered-dose inhalers (pMDI) therapy is convenient and widely prescribed, its use usually results in repetitive inhalation technique errors. One of the most repetitive errors is inhaling too fast through the pMDI. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of Clip-tone® along with smartphone visual feedback application on the subject's inhalation time. ⋯ Providing audio feedback by the Clip-tone® along with smartphone visual feedback application maintained the deep and slow inhalation through pMDI much better compared to verbal counselling only. We recommend the patients to take all their inhaled doses using pMDI attached to a training device like Clip-tone® along with a smartphone visual feedback application for optimisation of the aerosol delivery from the pMDI.
