Sesiones breves con retroalimentación: una oportunidad para mantener las habilidades en reanimación cardiopulmonar en profesionales de atención primaria.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) feedback applications can facilitate learning in brief training sessions, but they have never been tested in primary care settings. We aimed to see if brief CPR training sessions that include feedback improve the skills of primary care staff. ⋯ Brief retraining sessions with feedback are useful for maintaining CPR skills in primary care, but skill improvement is not long lasting.

Efficacy of a fast-track pathway for managing uncomplicated renal or ureteral colic in a hospital emergency department: the STONE randomized clinical trial of Sonography and Testing of a Nephrolithiasis Episode.
To evaluate a fast-track pathway utilizing point-of-care (POC) testing and sonography as soon as uncomplicated renal or ureteral colic is suspected and to compare the POC clinical pathway to a standard one. ⋯ The use of a fast-track POC pathway to manage uncomplicated colic in the ED is effective and safe. It also reduces the amount of time spent in the ED.

Predicting a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome during telephone evaluation by an emergency dispatcher: the SCARE predictive scale.
Correctly identifying patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) on first contact is essential, yet emergency dispatchers currently lack a risk scale that can help predict an ACS diagnosis. Our main aim was to develop and validate such a risk scale. ⋯ The SCARE scale had good discrimination and calibration properties. The scale should be further validated in an external sample from a multicenter study before it is implemented by emergency dispatch centers.

Standard basic life support training of the European Resuscitation Council versus blended training: a randomized trial of a new teaching method.
To evaluate the immediate and 9-month results of blended versus standard training in basic life support and the use of an automatic external defibrillator (BLS/AED). ⋯ The blended training method led to better results on some skill items.

Virtual reality in cardiopulmonary resuscitation training: a randomized trial.
To assess the efficacy of virtual reality (VR) in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. ⋯ Training with VR can improve CPR theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
