Advances in the use of flow diversion (FD) now extend to bifurcation aneurysms; herein, we compare thromboembolic events in patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) aneurysms treated with and without exclusion of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA). ⋯ Thromboembolic events can occur in distal ICA aneurysms treated with FD, but no significant association was seen with covering the ACA origin.

In patients undergoing metastatic spine surgery, we sought to 1) report time to postoperative radiation therapy (RT), 2) describe the predictive factors of time to postoperative RT, and 3) determine if earlier postoperative RT is associated with improved local recurrence (LR) and overall survival (OS). ⋯ Spine surgeons, oncologists, and radiation oncologists should make every effort to start RT within 1 month to improve 1-year survival after metastatic spine tumor surgery.

This research discusses colloid cyst surgical concerns, with an emphasis on the value of a novel surgical classification based on anatomical sites. In the study, 59 patients who underwent surgical intervention between 2009 and 2022 and were diagnosed with colloid cysts via computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging participated. ⋯ In summary, the surgical classification that has been suggested provides significant insights into the varied anatomical sites where colloid cysts might be found. Microneurosurgeons significantly need to be oriented about the possible sites of colloid cysts through this classification to achieve complete and curative resection and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Keyhole surgery has been widely used to clip various intracranial aneurysms. Here, the feasibility of microsurgical clipping of multiple intracranial aneurysms via the keyhole approach was further investigated. ⋯ Early keyhole surgical clipping of multiple intracranial aneurysms is an effective treatment. Among ruptured aneurysms, small aneurysms are common and need attention and timely treatment.

Incidental durotomy is a common complication of posterior lumbar spine surgery; however, effective and durable methods for primary repair remain elusive. Multiple existing techniques have previously been reported and extensively described, including sutured repair and the use of nonpenetrating titanium clips. The use of cranial aneurysm clips for primary repair of lumbar durotomy serves as a safe and effective alternative to obtain watertight closure of a dural tear. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge, we report the largest series of patients undergoing primary repair of incidental durotomy with the use of an aneurysm clip. Use of an aneurysm clip is noted to be a safe, quick, and effective method of primary repair compared with existing repair techniques such as sutured repair or nonpenetrating titanium clips.
