Humans are exposed every day to innumerable external stimuli, both environmental and microbial. Immunological memory recalls each specific stimulus and mounts a secondary response that is faster and of a larger magnitude than the primary response; this process constitutes the basis for vaccine development. ⋯ Memory T cells have an important role in the resolution of COVID-19, and they are key pillars of immunological memory. In this review, we summarize the main findings regarding anti-SARS-CoV-2 memory T cells after infection, after vaccination, and after the combination of these two events ("hybrid immunity"), and analyze how these cells can contribute to long-term protection against the infection with SARS-CoV-2 variants.

Anti-cytokine autoantibodies (ACAA) have been reported to be an important cause of secondary immunodeficiencies. High titers of neutralizing autoantibodies may cause susceptibility to different life-threatening infectious diseases. For example, neutralizing autoantibodies against IFNg have been reported to be correlated with susceptibility to mycobacterial infections and intracellular fungal pathogens. ⋯ Therefore, they may be considered to be primary immunodeficiencies phenocopies. Consequently, the detection of ACAA could be important in the diagnosis of patients, particularly in the case of late-onset diseases, in order to decide appropriate treatments. This review presents an overview of current understanding of ACAA-associated secondary immunodeficiencies.

This work addresses the origin and development of post-COVID-19 syndrome, which consists of the persistence of different symptoms over time as a consequence of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Based on a narrative review of the scientific literature, a brief analysis of the new term is made, specifying the conceptual definition, characteristic symptoms, the various implications for people's health, and the responses to specific care measures that have been implemented. It concludes with a wake-up call to the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean in order for care and surveillance to be provided to this public health problem.

Receptors are proteins coded by DNA, some of which have already been crystalized, thus allowing the details of their structure at the atomic level and some aspects of their function to be known. This review focuses on the most diverse and abundant family of receptors, G protein-coupled receptors. ⋯ Molecular modeling or "docking" is also a computational bioinformatics tool that supports research on receptor-ligand binding, which allows the design and development of increasingly specific drugs. These developments have brought along significant changes in fundamental pharmacodynamic concepts.

Falls are considered a public health problem in older adults, and their approach should be multidimensional. Dance emerges as an intervention option that allows different schemes to be integrated in movement enhancement. ⋯ The results of this work support that dance can be used as an interventional option in older adults at risk of falling.
