Randomized Controlled Trial
[Sitaglitpin phosphate treatment in patients with reactive hypoglycemia secondary to dysinsulinism. Controlled, randomized, double-blind study].
We evaluated the effect of sitagliptin in correction of symptomatic reactive hypoglycemia. ⋯ Sitagliptin improved FISP and reduced post-prandial symptomatology. These results suggest a novel therapeutic option for patients with reactive hypoglycemia related with FISP.

[Effectiveness of supervised aerobic exercise in alternating weekdays associated with glycosylated hemoglobin levels among type 2 sedentary diabetic patients].
[corrected] Determine the extent to which levels of glycosylated hemoglobin levels among type 2 sedentary diabetic patients change when performing aerobic exercises two or three times a week. ⋯ Moderate aerobic exercise was well tolerated showing a significant decrease on HbA1c even among the 2 day group.

[Dexmedetomidine as preventive postoperative analgesia in inguinal hernioplasty].
Preemptive analgesia, is obtained via aspartate antagonists and glutamate, neurotransmitters released during tissular injury. Objective Asses preemptive analgesia with dexmedetomidine and consumption of a postanesthesia analgesic. ⋯ Intravenous dexmedetomidine administered prior to anesthesia decreases pain intensity and consumption of postoperative analgesia.

[Prevention of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy with high-dose, early phenobarbital therapy].
To assess usefulness of high-dose early phenobarbital therapy for prevention of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) secondary to perinatal asphyxia (PNA). ⋯ There was no significant difference in the overall frequency of HIE, nor in the incidence of seizures or stage II of HIE in both groups. According to these results and even though there were no side effects, we think phenobarbital is not useful for these purposes. Long-term follow-up of the treated infants is justified, since phenobarbital might have a beneficial effect on neuro-behavioral development.

[Cuff pressure in endotracheal intubation: should it be routinely measured?].
To determine the relationship between endotracheal tube cuff pressure and post-surgical tracheal pain. ⋯ High tube cuff pressure is a related factor to the tracheal pain so must be considered a routine monitoring of cuff pressure and device to avoid cuff pressure that exceeds the necessary minimum.
