Concordance of grip strength measurement between a digital handheld dynamometer and a Hydraulic dynamometer.
Assessment of muscle strength is of great interest for the study of age-associated pathologies, including frailty and sarcopenia. However, the cost of some of the equipment necessary for its evaluation could be prohibitive for its generalized use in some settings. ⋯ In this study, the Camry dynamometer was observed to be reliable for measuring hand grip strength in community-dwelling people 60 years or older.

On December 31, 2019, one of the most serious pandemics in recent times made its appearance. Certain health conditions, such as obesity and diabetes mellitus, have been described to be related to COVID-19 unfavorable outcomes. ⋯ Age, sex, diabetes mellitus and obesity were found to be predictors of COVID-19 mortality. Further research related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular diseases, smoking and pregnancy is suggested.

Infertility increases stress and affects life quality. Mindfulness reduces stress and improves life quality, but its role in infertility remains unclear. ⋯ Our results suggest that mindfulness reduces stress and improves quality of life in women under infertility treatment.

Registration of deaths in children under five years of age has improved in Mexico, however, the underreporting has not yet been eliminated.
The underreporting of vital statistics poses a problem for the quality of information. To address underreporting, Mexico implemented the "Intentional Search for Children Deaths" in 2002. ⋯ The registration of deaths has improved; however, it is crucial to identify states needing further investigation and intervention to reduce the underreporting gap in infant mortality.
