Particularly, in regions with high fertility rates, promoting breastfeeding during pregnancy and tandem breastfeeding can be important in increasing breastfeeding rates. ⋯ The study's findings emphasize the importance of providing informed support and education to women who choose to breastfeed during pregnancy, addressing common misconceptions about tandem breastfeeding, and recognizing the impact of cultural and educational factors on breastfeeding practices.

Fear of childbirth (FOC) is a common problem associated with psycho-social factors in pregnant women. ⋯ In the relationship between self-efficacy and FOC, social support is a key factor in reducing FOC. To reduce the FOC, the social support of pregnant women should be strengthened, and the fear associated with acute crisis periods such as pandemics should be reduced with some preventive measures.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is now adjudged the most common liver disease in the world, contributing to the rising incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide. However, the true prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease among obese individuals and its contribution to the burden of liver disease in Nigeria is unknown. ⋯ The prevalence of NAFLD in obese subjects was significant. NAFLD in obese subjects was associated with degree of obesity, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus.

Allergic rhinitis is an immunoglobulin E-mediated hypersensitivity disease of the mucous membrane of the nasal airway. There is a paucity of information regarding serum immunoglobulin E level and its relationship with eosinophil count among patients with allergic rhinitis in our facility and Northeastern Nigeria. ⋯ All of the participants had a high serum IgE level. There was no significant association between serum IgE and eosinophil count.
