Type 1 fascia graft tympanoplasty (T1FGT) is the mainstay surgical approach for the treatment of tympanic membrane perforations. The most widely used graft material is temporal muscle fascia, and graft take rates are reported differently. The methods to enhance graft take are still being investigated. Aim: The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of titanium-prepared platelet-rich fibrin (T-PRF) on graft take and hearing outcomes in T1FGT. ⋯ In the treatment of tympanic membrane perforations, T-PRF applied over the fascia graft was shown to increase graft take rates and decrease the probability of infection. Further studies with larger samples are needed to demonstrate the effects of PRF.

The quality of life decreases in patients with sudden hearing loss due to hearing problems. In addition, complications due to hyperbaric oxygen therapy can reduce the quality of life. ⋯ At the end of the nurse-led hyperbaric oxygen therapy in patients with sudden hearing loss, the quality of life increased and the hearing loss decreased. The most important factor affecting the quality of life was the persistence of symptoms of sudden hearing loss.

The monocyte-to-high-density lipoprotein (HDL) ratio (MHR) may be used as a marker of inflammation and oxidative stress. This study aimed to evaluate the use of MHR and platelet markers in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and demonstrate MHR's relationship with inflammation, the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ), and quality of life. ⋯ Our results suggest that the monocyte, platelet, HDL, MHR, and MPV parameters can be used in the evaluation of inflammation in FMS patients.

Testicular torsion causes ischemic injury, and torsion causes reperfusion injury. ⋯ ALR in plasma and testicular tissue has a potential role in the early diagnosis of testicular torsion and in predicting the prognosis of T and T/D.

Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) causes organ dysfunction as a result of the increased formation of various reactive oxygen metabolites, infiltration of inflammatory cells, interstitial edema, cellular dysfunction, and tissue death. ⋯ The results of this study suggest that MESNA has a protective effect on tissues by suppressing cellular responses to oxidants and inflammatory mediators associated with carotid ischemia-reperfusion.
