To assess the presence of Streptococcus Mutans (S.mutans) and Lactobacillus species (LB) of newborn-mother pairs using the real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). ⋯ S.mutans and LB were able to colonize on the oral mucosal surfaces of edentulous newborns, with the counts of both bacteria increasing significantly with tooth eruption.

To compare the effectiveness of different tirofiban administration time windows in patients with no-reflow myocardial infarction (MI) during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). ⋯ Compared with the direct application of tirofiban, tirofiban given when TIMI Grade≥ 1 for patients with no-reflow MI during PCI can more effectively regulate the blood flow status of target vessels, reduce myocardial injury, and reduce the risk of MACE.

This study explores the application and feasibility of problem based learning (PBL), integrating case based learning (CBL), and the mini clinical evaluation exercise (Mini-CEX) into the standardized training of residents in nephrology department, in order to assess their clinical skills in a comprehensive manner. ⋯ PBL-CBL and Mini-CEX may be an effective method for improving medical residents' performance and enhancing their clinical skills, which is worthy of promotion in the standardized training of the residents.

To investigate the effect of a combination of high-flow nasal oxygen therapy (HFNO) and ipratropium bromide (IB) on Th1/Th2 balance and inflammation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and respiratory failure (RF). ⋯ In COPD patients with RF, HFNO combined with IB is efficient in alleviating the inflammatory state of patients, restoring Th1/Th2 balance, and improving lung function compared to HFNO alone.

The objective of the study was to explore the presentation of symptoms in patients suffering from treatment-resistant mood disorder (TRMD), and associated clinical features, including age, gender, and comorbid conditions, that lead towards the development of treatment-resistant mood disorder. Furthermore, the study analyses the available psychotherapeutic treatment modalities and evidence-based non-medical treatment approaches for TRMD. ⋯ It was concluded that psychotherapeutic interventions in augmentation with pharmacological modalities enhance the efficacy of treatment.
