Does treatment with Sodium-Glucose Co-transporter-2 Inhibitors have an effect on sleep quality, quality of life, and anxiety levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus?
To evaluate the impact of treatment with sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) Inhibitors on quality of life (QoL), sleep quality (SQ), and anxiety levels in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ The QoL was improved in people with diabetes who were taking SGLT2 inhibitors. This may be explained by weight loss observed in participants.

Effects of different epidural initiation volumes on postoperative analgesia in cesarean section.
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of different epidural initiation volumes on postoperative pain scores, analgesic requirements, and side effects in pregnant women administered patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) for postoperative pain after cesarean sections. ⋯ The PCEA initiations with different volumes provided similar pain scores. However, the 20 mL volume resulted in a lower analgesic dose requirement during the early postoperative period, and it also delayed the requirement for analgesia.

The effects of hand splinting in patients with early stage thumb carpometacarpal joint osteoarthritis: a randomized, controlled study.
Evidence for the effectiveness of splinting in thumb carpometacarpal osteoarthritis is limited. We aimed to evaluate the effects of a prefabricated carpometacarpal metacarpophalangeal immobilization splint on pain, hand function, and hand strength in patients with early-stage thumb carpometacarpal osteoarthritis. ⋯ The prefabricated carpometacarpal metacarpophalangeal immobilization splint is effective in improving pain, hand function, and hand strength in patients with thumb carpometacarpal osteoarthritis.

Evaluation of the cardioprotective effects of crystalloid del Nido cardioplegia solution via a rapid and accurate cardiac marker: Heart-type fatty acid-binding protein.
Our aim in this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of crystalloid del Nido solution and cold blood cardioplegia solution on clinical and laboratory parameters. ⋯ According to these results, when we compare both demographic data and CK-MB, troponin I and H-FABP levels, both cardioplegia solutions were comparable regarding safety and efficacy in terms of myocardial protection.

The effect of sacrospinous ligament fixation during vaginal hysterectomy on postoperative de-novo stress incontinence occurrence: A prospective study with two-year follow up.
To investigate the risk of de novo stress urinary incontinence (SUI) occurrence in women who were treated for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) with sacrospinous ligament fixation (SSLF) in addition to vaginal hysterectomy (VAH) and antero-posterior colporrhaphy (CAP) over a 24-month follow-up period. ⋯ In patients undergoing surgery for POP, the addition of SSLF did not result in an increased rate of de novo SUI. Careful patient selection, and informing the patients about the risks and benefits of the planned surgical procedure are essential steps in each case of POP.
