Randomized Controlled Trial
Transmuscular quadratus lumborum block versus oblique subcostal transversus abdominis plane block for analgesia in laparoscopic hysterectomy: a randomised single-blind trial.
The transmuscular quadratus lumborum (TQL) block and the oblique subcostal transversus abdominis plane (OSTAP) block both contribute to multimodal analgesia after laparoscopic surgery. The objective of this study was to compare the analgesic effects of the TQL block versus OSTAP block after laparoscopic hysterectomy. ⋯ Compared with the OSTAP block, the TQL block reduced morphine consumption and provided better visceral pain relief with a longer duration of effect after laparoscopic hysterectomy.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomised controlled trial in an experimental online supermarket testing the effects of front-of-pack nutrition labelling on food purchasing intentions in a low-income population.
The Nutri-Score, a front-of-pack nutrition label, has been adopted in 2017 in France but its impact on low-income populations is unknown, and they are more at risk of having unhealthy diets. The present study assessed the effects of the Nutri-Score on the nutritional quality of purchasing intentions among low-income individuals, compared with the current French labelling situation: references intakes (RIs) and no label, using a three-arm parallel-group randomised controlled trial. ⋯ The implementation of the front of pack nutrition label Nutri-Score, adopted in France and in different European countries, appears to have the potential to encourage purchasing intentions of foods from higher nutritional quality among low-income individuals, compared with the RIs label promoted by food manufacturers.Trial registration number: NCT02769455.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Postoperative analgesic effects of the quadratus lumborum block III and transversalis fascia plane block in paediatric patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip undergoing open reduction surgeries: a double-blinded randomised controlled trial.
To evaluate the analgesic effectiveness of two novel regional nerve blocks in paediatric patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) after open reduction surgeries. ⋯ We suggested that both ultrasound-guided QLB III and TFPB should be considered as an option for perioperative analgesia in children with DDH undergoing open reduction surgeries. TFPB was superior to the QLB III because it prolonged the first-time request for NCA/PCA analgesia and decreased the total counts number of pressing.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Comparison of the effects of intravenous propofol and inhalational desflurane on the quality of early recovery after hand-assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomy: a prospective, randomised controlled trial.
We compared early recovery outcomes between living kidney donors who received total intravenous (IV) propofol versus inhalational desflurane during hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy. ⋯ Intravenous propofol may enhance the quality of postoperative recovery in comparison to desflurane in living kidney donors.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Effects of novel flash glucose monitoring system on glycaemic control in adult patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus: protocol of a multicentre randomised controlled trial.
Optimal glycaemic control is beneficial to prevent and delay microvascular complications in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). The benefits of flash glucose monitoring (FGM) have been proved among well-controlled adults with T1DM, but evidence for FGM in adults with T1DM who have suboptimal glycaemic control is limited. This study aims to evaluate the effect of FGM in suboptimally controlled adult patients with T1DM . ⋯ This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in January 2017. Ethical approval has been obtained at all centres. All participants will be provided with oral and written information about the trial. The study will be disseminated by peer-review publications and conference presentations.
