Vaccination coverage of children with rheumatic diseases compared with healthy controls: a retrospective case-control study.
To reveal the vaccination status of patients with pediatric rheumatic disease (PedRD) and to compare this with healthy controls. ⋯ Vaccination coverage of PedRD patients has been shown to lag behind the routine vaccination schedule (71.4%). In addition to new recommendations, electronic health system records for vaccination may be appropriate for the follow-up of these patients, and the addition of reminder alerts may be useful to reduce the rate of missed vaccinations.

The effects of rate-pressure product at admission on cardiopulmonary function during hospitalization in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
This study aimed to analyze the correlation between the rate pressure product (RPP) and cardiopulmonary function during hospitalization in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). ⋯ The RPP at admission was negatively correlated with cardiopulmonary function during hospitalization in patients with AMI. Patients with a high RPP were more likely to have a combination of obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and reduced oxygen uptake during exercise, while a high RPP at admission appeared to affect their cardiovascular response indicators during exercise.

ReviewEarly diagnosis of chronic kidney disease in patients with diabetes in France: multidisciplinary expert opinion, prevention value and practical recommendations.
Diabetes is the leading cause of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), accounting for approximately 50% of patients starting dialysis. However, the management of these patients at the stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD) remains poor, with fragmented care pathways among healthcare professionals (HCPs). Diagnosis of CKD and most of its complications is based on laboratory evidence. ⋯ Pre-analytical conditions are essential to exclude factitious hyperkalemia. The current concept is to correct hyperkalemia using pharmacological approaches, resins or diuretics to be able to maintain RAAS blockers at the recommended dose and discontinue them at last resort. This paper also suggests expert recommendations to optimize the healthcare pathway and the roles and interactions of the HCPs involved in managing CKD in patients with diabetes.

Serum uric acid to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio is a promising marker for identifying metabolic syndrome in nondiabetic Chinese men.
To explore the relationship between serum uric acid (UA) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio (UHR) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in nondiabetic individuals. ⋯ UHR significantly correlated with the components of MetS and could serve as a novel and reliable marker for identifying the population at a high risk of MetS in nondiabetic men, especially in younger adults.

Predictors of stroke-associated pneumonia and the predictive value of neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio.
Early recognition of stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is critical to reducing morbidity and mortality associated with SAP. This study investigated the predictors of SAP, and the predictive value of the neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) for SAP. ⋯ Male gender, dysphagia and hemiparesis were the strongest predictors of SAP, and NPAR has an excellent performance in predicting SAP which was better than high NLR and MLR.
