Oral versus subcutaneous semaglutide for prevention of major adverse cardiovascular events: cost per outcome analysis of SUSTAIN-6 and PIONEER-6.
Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP1a), reduces the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). An oral version of semaglutide is now available, and patients may prefer it over the subcutaneous form. Our objective was to compare the value for money of the two modalities by assessing the cost needed to treat (CNT) to prevent MACE. ⋯ Oral and subcutaneous semaglutide prescribed to prevent MACE in patients with T2DM provide similar value for money. The choice between both therapies should be guided mainly by patient preferences.

Prevalence and predictors of Helicobacter pylori infection in asymptomatic individuals: a hospital-based cross-sectional study in Shenzhen, China.
Although a high Helicobacter pylori infection rate has been reported in dyspeptic patients, published data for the asymptomatic population are inadequate. We aimed to investigate the prevalence of H. pylori infection and the association between H. pylori infection diagnosed using the noninvasive 13C urea breath test (13C UBT) and risk factors in asymptomatic Chinese individuals. ⋯ These findings suggest that detailed and strict weight and glucose management is crucial to reduce the prevalence of H. pylori infection. Management strategies should be identified and implemented with regard to these identified factors to reduce the notable economic and healthcare burden in China.

Observational StudyImpact of insufficient doses of medications on Helicobacter pylori eradication: a retrospective observational study.
The doses of medications may influence the success of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication. This real-world observational study aimed to explore the impact of insufficient doses of medications prescribed for the bismuth-containing quadruple therapy (BQT) regimen on successful H. pylori eradication. ⋯ H. pylori, Helicobacter pylori; UBT, urea breath test; DPM, disintegrations per minute; BQT, bismuth-containing quadruple therapy; PPI, proton pump inhibitor; CBP, colloidal bismuth pectin; qd, once daily; bid, twice daily; tid, three times daily; qid, four times daily.

This study aimed to determine the knowledge levels of medical interns on childhood cancers (CC). ⋯ We found that the interns were seriously lacking knowledge about CC. Training has a positive effect on CC knowledge of the interns hence, the curriculum should be rearranged properly to improve this issue. A significant portion of interns do not consider their knowledge on CC as adequate and demand for further training. Insufficient familiarity regarding the symptoms of CC may lead to delays in early diagnosis. It is of significant importance that the Ministry of Health and its stakeholders generate projects informing especially the healthcare professionals and the public regarding risk factors and the symptoms of CC.
