Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparison of different stylets used for intubation with the C-MAC D-Blade® Videolaryngoscope: a randomized controlled study].
The angle of the C-MAC D-Blade® videolaryngoscope, which is used for difficult airway interventions, is not compatible with routinely used endotracheal tubes. ⋯ Use of the correct stylet leads to a more efficient use of the Storz C-MAC D-Blade®. In our study, the use of the D-blade stylet, the CoPilot stylet and the hockey stick stylet provided quicker intubation, allowed easier passage of the vocal cords, and decreased the total intubation duration. To confirm the findings of our study, randomized controlled human studies are needed.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Tourniquet-induced ischaemia-reperfusion injury: the comparison of antioxidative effects of small-dose propofol and ketamine].
The aim of the present study was to investigate the preventive effects of propofol and ketamine as small dose sedation during spinal anesthesia on tourniquet-induced ischemia-reperfusion injury. ⋯ Small-dose propofol and ketamine has similar potential to reduce the oxidative stress caused by tourniquet-induced ischemia-reperfusion injury in patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery under spinal anesthesia.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[A comparison of various supraglottic airway devices for fiberoptical guided tracheal intubation].
Fiberoptical assisted intubation via placed supraglottic airway devices has been described as safe and easy procedure to manage difficult airways. However visualization of the glottis aperture is essential for fiberoptical assisted intubation. Various different supraglottic airway devices are commercially available and might offer different conditions for fiberoptical assisted intubation. The aim of this study was to compare the best obtainable view of the glottic aperture using different supraglottic airway devices. ⋯ None of the used supraglottic airway devices offered a full or partial glottic view in all cases. However the Laryngeal Mask Airway Unique and the Laryngeal Mask Airway Aura-once seem to be more suitable for fiberoptical assisted intubation compared to other devices.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparison of the effects of sugammadex and neostigmine on postoperative nausea and vomiting].
The aim of our study is to compare the effects of sugammadex and neostigmine, used for neuromuscular blockage antagonism, on postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). ⋯ At the end of our study comparing neostigmine with sugammadex for neuromuscular blockage antagonism, we found use of sugammadex had lower incidence of PONV in the postoperative 1st hour and less anti-emetic use in 24hours of monitoring.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyThe use of disposable laryngeal mask airway for adenotonsillectomies.
Tracheal intubation associated with airway operations can cause complications such as laryngospasm, bronchospasm and periods of reduced oxygen saturation. Such complications are frequently reported during adenotonsillectomies, a procedure that by nature increases the incidence of airway complications. The objective of this study was to compare the occurrence of respiratory problems during adenotonsillectomies while using either a disposable laryngeal mask airway (LMA) or an endotracheal tube (TT). ⋯ Performing adenotonsillectomies in pediatric patients using a LMA resulted in a lower intraoperative SpO(2), compared to using a TT. In some cases, the LMA had to be replaced with an endotracheal tube. Although the surgery may be performed with LMA, the use of a TT is preferred for safety.
