[The Levels of Progesterone Receptors are Decreased in the Invasive Areas of the Recto-Vaginal Nodules of Endometriosis].
Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by the growth of the endometrium outside the uterine cavity. In response to estradiol, this tissue begins to proliferate and grow, forming lesions and nodules, which can invade the tissues, causing pelvic pain and infertility. The most widely used pharmacological treatment is progesterone, which manages to reduce symptoms, but approximately one-third of patients develop resistance to treatment. ⋯ The glands have different molecular and morphological characteristics depending on the area of the lesion. Invasive areas are more proliferative and express fewer progesterone receptors. However, further studies are required to determine if these differences translate into the ability to respond to progesterone treatment.

Observational Study[Association Between Parkinson's Disease and Functionality in Older Adults in Chile: The Case of the Maipú Commune].
Population aging has caused a rise in neurodegenerative diseases among which includes Parkinson's disease. However, in Chile, there is still little knowledge about how Parkinson's disease is associated with functionality in elderly people. ⋯ The study shows a significant association between Parkinson's disease and functional limitations, supported by the literature. Although this study accounts for the specific reality of a territory, its results can be useful in designing strategies and interventions that could help improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson's disease and their families in other urban territories of the country.

[Pancreatoduodenectomy in Octogenarian Patients and the Need for Standardized Evaluation].
Pancreatoduodenectomy represents the only curative alternative in patients with periampullary tumors, currently with acceptable morbidity and mortality rates. However, there is little evidence in octogenarian patients. ⋯ Pancreatoduodenectomy is an appropriate treatment alternative in patients over 80 years of age with tumors of the periampullary area, which can offer low morbidity and mortality rates if they are correctly selected in the context of a multidisciplinary preoperative evaluation in high-volume centers.
