[Effect of bFGF, IGF-I and their synergy on the mitogenesis of bovine lens epithelial cells].
To assess the effect of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), insulin like growth factor-I (IGF-I) and their synergy on the mitosis of bovine lens epithelial cells (BLECs). ⋯ Growth factor and their synergic effect may play an important role in lens epithelial cell proliferation.

[Early corneal limbal autograft transplantation after alkali burns].
To understand the clinical significance of corneal limbus transplantation on alkali burns. ⋯ Early limbal autograft transplantation can accelerate corneal epithelial healing, restrain corneal neovascularization and inflammatory response, therefore it can prevent corneal ulceration.

Comparative Study[Comparison between magnetic resonance imaging and CT in detection and localization of non-magnetic intraocular foreign bodies].
To approach the characteristics of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT in detection and localization of intraocular foreign bodies. ⋯ MRI could be used in detection and localization of non-magnetic intraocular foreign bodies with high positive rates in detection and superior to CT in demonstrating non-magnetic intraocular foreign bodies with low density and the relationship between foreign bodies and intraocular tissues. MRI was not as believable as CT in detection of foreign bodies in eye wall and not an appropriate modality in examinations of magnetic intraocular foreign body.

[A clinical analysis of Graves' ophthalmopathy and ophthalmic Graves' disease].
Clinical analysis of 29 cases of Graves' ophthalmopathy and 71 cases of ophthalmic Graves' disease showed that both identities had common ocular features of lid retraction, upper lid lag and exophthalmos, while Graves' ophthalmopathy tended to occur in later life, with longer morbid course, marked systemic symptoms and binocular involvement in contrast to ophthalmic Graves' disease. The clinical and differential diagnoses and treatment of the maladies were discussed.

[Temporary amaurosis from retrobulbar lidocaine injection in late glaucoma patients].
Temporary amaurosis occurred after retrobulbar injection of lidocaine in 12 cases of antiglaucoma surgery in 4 years, and 10 of the patients were of late glaucoma. Lidocaine has a strong penetration potential which blocks the visual pathway, particularly for late glaucoma eyes in which the remnant optic nerve fibers may be especially sensitive to the drug. Therefore, the authors refrain from retrobulbar lidocaine in late glaucoma patients.
