Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of the Forefoot Pressure-Relieving Effects of Foot Orthoses.
Metatarsal pads are prescribed to decrease forefoot plantar pressure. However, the appropriate metatarsal pad placement location remains a debated issue. We aimed to identify the most effective insole design that reduces forefoot plantar pressure and determine the optimal position for metatarsal pad placement. ⋯ Considering the possibility of discomfort caused by improper metatarsal pad placement, the SP that increases shock absorption may be more clinically useful.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of Interleukin-17A on the Early Stages of Arterial Thrombosis in Mice.
Interleukin (IL)-17A has been suggested to play a role in the growth and organization of thrombi. We examined whether IL-17A plays a role in the early stages of thrombosis and whether there are sex differences in the effects of IL-17A. ⋯ IL-17A plays a role in the initial st ages of arterial thrombosis in mice. Coagulation factors and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 may be associated with IL-17A-mediated thrombosis.

Randomized Controlled TrialAntioxidant-Rich Dietary Intervention Improves Cardiometabolic Profiles and Arterial Stiffness in Elderly Koreans with Metabolic Syndrome.
Oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathogenesis of chronic metabolic diseases. This study investigated the effect of the antioxidant-rich dietary intervention on oxidative stress, metabolic parameters, and arterial stiffness in elderly Koreans with metabolic syndrome (MetS). ⋯ Antioxidant-rich dietary intervention for a 4-week period ameliorated the state of oxidative stress and improved the components of MetS including central obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and arterial stiffness in elderly Koreans with MetS.

Randomized Controlled TrialNew Scoring System for Predicting Mortality in Patients with COVID-19.
We aimed to develop a novel mortality scoring system for inpatients with COVID-19 based on simple demographic factors and laboratory findings. ⋯ We developed a new scoring system for quickly and easily predicting COVID-19 mortality using simple predictors. This scoring system can help physicians provide the proper therapy and strategy for each patient.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of Electrical Automatic Massage on Cognition and Sleep Quality in Alzheimer's Disease Spectrum Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Muscle relaxation following electrical automatic massage (EAM) has been found to reduce fatigue, depression, stress, anxiety, and pain in individuals with various conditions. However, the effects of EAM have not been extensively explored in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). ⋯ While further studies in a clinical setting are needed to support our findings, these encouraging results suggest that EAM may be an alternative therapy for the management of associated symptoms in AD (ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT03507192, 24/04/2018).
