Preeclampsia is a leading cause of pregnancy complications and affects 3-7% of pregnant women. Pathophysiology of preeclampsia is still unclear. ⋯ This review summarizes the current knowledge of a new potential etiology of the disease, with a special focus on oxidative stress. We also review the different factors that have been proposed to cause endothelial cell dysfunction in preeclampsia, and trials investigating the role of antioxidant supplementation in preeclampsia.

Review[Focus on placental transfusion for preterm neonates: Delayed cord clamping and/or milking?]
Anemia of prematurity remains a common complication despite recent advances in perinatal and neonatal medicine. The delayed cord clamping (at least 30seconds as recommended) has several benefits: increased hemoglobin and hematocrit levels at birth, improved initial hemodynamic, decreased incidence of transfusions and intraventricular hemorrhages. ⋯ This is a safe and easy method, which can be done either by an obstetrician or pediatrician with comparable results for the child on his hemodynamic, hematological and neurological status. It still lacks technical information on this method and neurodevelopmental outcomes of these preterm infants.

Emergency hysterectomy for life-threatening postpartum haemorrhage: Risk factors and psychological impact.
Emergency postpartum hysterectomy (EPH) is usually considered the final resort for the management of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). The aim of this observational study was to identify the risk factors for EPH, to evaluate the ability of EPH to stop bleeding and, finally, to estimate its psychological impact. ⋯ Failure of postpartum hysterectomy to control bleeding was frequent, and it was associated with persistence of coagulopathy. Hysterectomy in this context had important psychological impacts.

Multicenter Study[Lobular invasive breast cancer prognostic factors: About 940 patients].
To assess the prognostic factors of T1 and T2 infiltrating lobular breast cancers, and to investigate predictive factors of axillary lymph node involvement. ⋯ The analysis of this series of 940 T1 and T2 lobular invasive breast carcinomas offers several information: factors associated with axillary lymph node involvement are age under 65 years, tumor size greater than 20mm, and a SBR grade 2 or 3. The same factors were significantly associated with the OS and DFS. The macrometastatic lymph node involvement has a significant impact on DFS and OS, which is not true for isolated cells and micrometastases, which seem to have the same prognosis as pN0.

Surgical guidance by freehand SPECT for sentinel lymph node biopsy in early stage breast cancer: A preliminary study.
Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is a standard for patients with early breast cancer. Using a gamma-detecting probe connected to an infrared camera, the Declipse freehand SPECT (FhSPECT) system (Surgiceye(®)) is able to detect and locate any radioactive source in 3D. The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential interest of FhSPECT imaging for real-time guidance SLNB in breast cancer. ⋯ This study demonstrated that FhSPECT is feasible and facilitates SLN identification.
