Prolonged emergency medical services' response times (EMS-RT) are associated with poorer outcomes in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). The patient access time interval (PATI), from vehicle stop until contact with patient, may be increased in areas with low socioeconomic status (SES). ⋯ In OHCA cases occurring in the Greater Paris metropolitan area, after adjustment for scene characteristics, EMS delays until patient contact were longer in neighborhoods of low SES, and were associated with poorer clinical outcomes.

The effects of the 2022 computed tomography IV contrast shortage on the emergency department diagnosis of abdominal pathology.
A COVID-19 lockdown in China resulted in a global disruption in IV contrast media production, which resulted in a hospital system advisory limiting contrast studies. The purpose of this study was to describe the effects of the IV contrast shortage on the ED diagnosis of emergent abdominopelvic pathology. ⋯ We did not identify differences in diagnoses during the contrast shortage period compared to the control period, and did not identify any missed important diagnoses as a consequence of the IV contrast shortage.

Multicenter StudyTracheoplasty should be proactively considered within the surgical strategy for treating the ring-sling complex.
To examine the safety and effectiveness of proactive tracheoplasty for pediatric ring-sling complex. ⋯ Concurrent sling and tracheal surgeries for children with the ring-sling complex are safe and effective and are especially preferable for those with NWR ≤0.6, long-segment or diffuse tracheal stenosis, anomalous tracheobronchial arborization, and pronounced respiratory symptoms.

Fluid overload trajectories and mortality in hemodialysis patients.
Fluid overload remains critical in managing patients with end-stage kidney disease. However, there is limited empirical understanding of fluid overload's impact on mortality. This study analyzes fluid overload trajectories and their association with mortality in hemodialysis patients. ⋯ This longitudinal study highlights the significant risk of chronic fluid overload in hemodialysis patients. Latent trajectory analysis provides novel information into the dynamic nature of fluid overload and its impact on mortality in the hemodialysis population.

The incidence of severe adverse events in children with SARS-CoV-2 undergoing anaesthesia has not been well established. We examined the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 infection and severe perioperative adverse events in children. ⋯ In the largest cohort to date of paediatric patients undergoing general anaesthesia, SARS-CoV-2 infection was associated with severe perioperative adverse events, but no children in the infected cohort died.
