Utility of a Benchmarking Report for Balancing Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship in Children with Complicated Appendicitis.
To develop a severity-adjusted, hospital-level benchmarking comparative performance report for postoperative organ space infection (OSI) and antibiotic utilization in children with complicated appendicitis. ⋯ A comparative performance benchmarking report may help hospitals identify and prioritize quality improvement opportunities for infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship, as well as identify exemplar performers for dissemination of best practices.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyAssociation between trajectory of systolic blood pressure and outcomes in heart failure patients with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
The optimal systolic blood pressure (SBP) in heart failure patients with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains controversial. We aim to assess the SBP trajectory and prognosis in HFpEF. ⋯ The decreasing or increasing SBP trajectory is associated with a high risk of cardiovascular events in HFpEF, suggesting a stable SBP trajectory group (≈130 mmHg) have lower incidence of cardiovascular events and mortality. Trials are necessary to determine the optimal SBP in HFpEF.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyLeft ventricular diastolic dysfunction is prevalent but not associated with mortality in patients with septic shock.
Prognostic impact of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) in septic shock patients has not been determined using current diagnostic guidelines. We assessed the relation between LVDD during the first 3 days following intensive care unit (ICU) admission for septic shock and Day-28 mortality. ⋯ LVDD was highly prevalent in patients with septic shock but not associated with mortality. It appeared improving in one-third of survivors.

Full Robotic Whole Graft Liver Transplantation: A Step Into The Future.
To report the first European series of full robotic whole liver transplantation (RLT) with technical details and future perspectives. ⋯ RLT is a promising technique to further reduce the impact of liver transplantation thanks to smaller incision, gentle tissue manipulation, high magnification and precision for vascular and biliary anastomosis, and reduced postoperative pain. This is the first step toward the demonstration of the feasibility of minimally invasive surgery in liver transplantation, although further selection and technical refinements are needed to improve reproducibility.

Multicenter StudyDeep learning using histological images for gene mutation prediction in lung cancer: a multicentre retrospective study.
Accurate detection of driver gene mutations is crucial for treatment planning and predicting prognosis for patients with lung cancer. Conventional genomic testing requires high-quality tissue samples and is time-consuming and resource-consuming, and as a result, is not available for most patients, especially those in low-resource settings. We aimed to develop an annotation-free Deep learning-enabled artificial intelligence method to predict GEne Mutations (DeepGEM) from routinely acquired histological slides. ⋯ For the Chinese translation of the abstract see Supplementary Materials section.
