Multicenter Study Comparative StudyTotal knee arthroplasty after opening- versus closing-wedge high tibial osteotomy. A 135-case series with minimum 5-year follow-up.
High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is effective in treating isolated medial osteoarthritis of the knee, but subsequent deterioration is inevitable, and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is then an option. The present study sought to compare TKA following medial opening-wedge HTO (OW-HTO) versus lateral closing-wedge HTO (CW-HTO) in terms of intraoperative data and clinical results. The study hypothesis was that there is no significant difference in clinical results or complications in TKA following OW-HTO or CW-HTO. ⋯ III; comparative retrospective study.

Multicenter StudyOsseointegrated Transtibial Implants in Patients with Peripheral Vascular Disease: A Multicenter Case Series of 5 Patients with 1-Year Follow-up.
Osseointegration is an alternative treatment for amputees who are unable to wear or have difficulty wearing a socket prosthesis. Although the majority of limb amputations are due to vascular disease, such amputations have been perceived as a contraindication to osseointegration surgery. We report the outcomes of osseointegrated reconstruction in a series of 5 patients with limb amputation due to peripheral vascular disease. ⋯ Therapeutic Level IV. Multicenter StudyEvaluation of the external fixator TrueLok Hexapod System for tibial deformity correction in children.
Tibial deformities are common in paediatric orthopaedic practice. Correcting multiplanar tibial deformities associated with lower limb length discrepancy can be challenging. Hexapod external fixation with gradual correction has been proven effective in this situation. ⋯ IV (retrospective study).
