Multicenter Study
Quality of life after pelvic ring fractures: Long-term outcomes. A multicentre study.
This study was conducted to determine long-term (5-10 years) health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and ceiling effects in patients with a pelvic ring fracture. ⋯ Patients who suffer pelvic ring fractures generally have good HRQOL outcomes after 5-10 years. No significant differences were found among different fracture types. Long-term follow-up of patients with Tile C fractures is warranted.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyInterprosthetic femoral fractures: Morbidity and mortality in a retrospective, multicenter study.
Interprosthetic femoral fractures (IFF) are becoming more frequent; however they have not been the subject of many publications and the largest study on this topic includes only 30 cases. The complication rate and clinical outcomes have only been evaluated in small case series. This led us to conduct a retrospective, multicenter, observational study in IFF patients with at least 12 months' follow-up to (1) determine the mortality and morbidity (2) determine the clinical and radiological outcomes and (3) identify elements of the treatment indications. ⋯ IV, Retrospective study.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Intramedullary nails versus distal locking plates for fracture of the distal femur: results from the Trial of Acute Femoral Fracture Fixation (TrAFFix) randomised feasibility study and process evaluation.
This feasibility study and process evaluation assessed the likely success of a definitive trial of intramedullary fixation with locked retrograde nails versus extramedullary fixation with fixed angle plates for fractures of the distal femur. ⋯ The Wales Research Ethics Committee 5 approved the study (ref: 16/WA/0225).

Multicenter StudyImplant Fracture Analysis of the TFNA Proximal Femoral Nail.
Mechanical failure of intramedullary nails is rare. This investigation was prompted by a series of cases of observed breakage of the recently introduced TFNA Proximal Femoral Nailing System (TFN [Trochanteric Fixation Nail]-Advanced; DePuy Synthes) in our region. Laboratory analysis and case data are presented, in contribution to post-market surveillance. ⋯ Therapeutic Level IV. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.

Multicenter Study Clinical TrialThree-Dimensional Corrective Osteotomy for Malunited Fractures of the Upper Extremity Using Patient-Matched Instruments: A Prospective, Multicenter, Open-Label, Single-Arm Trial.
Medical image processing has facilitated simulation of 3-dimensional (3-D) corrective osteotomy, and 3-D rapid prototyping technology has further enabled the manufacturing of patient-matched surgical guides and implants (patient-matched instruments, or PMIs). However, 3-D corrective osteotomy using these technologies has not been the standard procedure. We aimed to prospectively verify the efficacy and safety of PMIs in corrective osteotomy for deformities of the upper extremity. ⋯ Therapeutic Level IV.
