To explore primary care physician (PCP) perspectives on the clinical utility of virtual visits. ⋯ While participants believed that virtual visits can be appropriately used to resolve a variety of clinical concerns, they found in practice that virtual visits are fundamentally different from face-to-face encounters. Professional guidelines on appropriate use cases should be established to develop a standard framework for virtual care.

Evaluation of the Oral Health Knowledge Network's Impact on Pediatric Clinicians and Patient Care.
Oral disease has a major impact on the overall health of US children, with dental caries being the most prevalent chronic disease in this age group. Given nationwide shortages of dental professionals, interprofessional clinicians and staff with proper training can influence oral health access. The American Academy of Pediatrics created the Oral Health Knowledge Network (OHKN) in 2018 to bring together pediatric clinicians via monthly virtual sessions to learn from experts, share resources, and network. ⋯ Overall, the OHKN had a positive impact on pediatric clinicians and nonclinicians and, as a learning collaborative, successfully educated and motivated health care professionals to improve their patients' access to oral health through rapid resource sharing as well as clinical practice change.

Interprofessional Primary Care and Acute Care Hospital Use by People With Dementia: A Population-Based Study.
Interprofessional primary care has the potential to optimize hospital use for acute care among people with dementia. We compared 1-year emergency department (ED) visits and hospitalizations among people with dementia enrolled in a practice having an interprofessional primary care team with those enrolled in a physician-only group practice. ⋯ Interprofessional primary care was associated with increased ED use but not hospitalizations among people newly identified as having dementia. Although interprofessional primary care may be well suited to manage the growing and complex dementia population, a better understanding of the optimal characteristics of team-based care and the reasons leading to acute care hospital use by people with dementia is needed.

Continuing medical education (CME) programs are planned to provide medical professionals with the opportunity to stay abreast of new developments in their field. After each program, CME attendees are given the chance to evaluate the success of the activity in meeting its defined learning objectives. Over one-third of intent-to-change statements from CME evaluations do not match the stated learning objectives. We examined unmatched objectives and intent-to-change statements to determine their usefulness for future meeting planning. ⋯ An analysis of intent-to-change statements that are unmatched to meeting learning objectives is a potential avenue for understanding outcomes of CME activities. Our observations about general versus specific learning objective language may prove useful for CME planners' future educational event formulation.
