Delayed rupture of traumatic anterior cerebral artery A4 segment aneurysm: A case report.
Delayed rupture of traumatic intracranial aneurysms is relatively rare, and traumatic anterior A4 segment aneurysms may be associated with trauma to the cerebral falx. The mortality rate in patients with delayed traumatic rupture of intracranial aneurysms is>50%. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment are critical. Herein, we present a case of a patient who did not have an intracranial aneurysm on computed tomographic angiography (CTA) after admission. Subsequently, the patient consciousness deteriorated, and CTA revealed aneurysm and bleeding. ⋯ Considering the catastrophic consequences of the disease, we should review CTA or digital subtraction angiography many times after admission, and take appropriate surgical procedures in time.

Sudden unilateral corneal clouding in diabetic patient: A case report and literature review.
Corneal opacity can be caused by various disease. Generally, the opacity gradually increases as the disease progresses. Sudden corneal opacity is mainly caused by corneal trauma, toxic drugs entering the cornea, or acute edema of the keratoconus. However, sudden corneal opacity caused by diabetes has not been reported. ⋯ Although diabetes generally causes chronic corneal edema, acute corneal edema may also occur when blood sugar is poorly controlled. Therefore, when we see sudden corneal opacity without obvious incentives, we must consider systemic diseases, especially diabetes.

Predictive Factors for Delayed Surgical Intervention in Children With Epidural Hematomas.
Optimal treatment of children with traumatic intracranial epidural hematomas (EDHs) is unknown. We sought to identify clinical and radiographic predictors of delayed surgical intervention among children with EDH admitted for observation. ⋯ Among patients with EDH admitted for observation, larger EDH, mass effect, headaches, and prothrombin time of >14 seconds were associated with delayed surgical intervention. A larger-scale study is warranted to identify independent predictors of delayed surgery in children under observation for EDH.

Epidemiology and outcomes of pregnant trauma patients in Japan: a nationwide descriptive study.
Trauma during pregnancy is the leading indirect obstetric cause of death, and its management is challenging owing to its characteristics. We aimed to describe the epidemiology of pregnant trauma patients and explore their characteristics by comparing them with those of non-pregnant patients. ⋯ Transport time and mortality were similar between pregnant and non-pregnant trauma patients. Abdominal trauma and surgery were more common in pregnant relative to non-pregnant patients, while the number of CT scans was less. Further research is required to investigate the effects of trauma on the course of pregnancy and the fetus.
