Psychogenic erectile dysfunction (pED) is often accompanied by abnormal brain activities. This study aimed to develop an automaticclassifier to distinguish pED from healthy controls (HCs) by identified brain-basedcharacteristics. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data were acquired from 45 pED patients and 43 HCs. ⋯ This study identified altered regional activity and FC in specific brain regions of pED patients, which might be related to the development of pED. The application of machine learning confirmed the distinctive characteristics of these functional changes in the brain. The high accuracy of our diagnostic model suggested a promising direction for developing objective diagnostic tools for psychological disorders.

Pelvic ring fracture and erectile dysfunction (PERFECD) - 3 year follow-up cross sectional study.
Pelvic ring fractures are known to be associated with complications associated with adjacent organ injuries, such as the urogenital tract (e.g. erectile dysfunction (ED), which are sometimes diagnosed in a delayed fashion. Therefore, we assessed the quality of life (QoL) and the rate of erectile dysfunction (ED) following pelvic ring fractures at a minimum of 3 years after pelvic ring injury. ⋯ Vertical shear fractures are associated with significantly lower quality of life compared to APC or LC fractures three years post-injury. The APC type of pelvic ring injury was identified as an independent risk factor for the development of erectile dysfunction (ED). Early screening and appropriate management should be initiated for patients with APC injuries to address and mitigate the risk of ED.

A Combination of Punica granatum Fruit Rind and Theobroma cacao Seed Extracts Enhances Sexual Function in Aging Males in a Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Study.
Introduction: LN18178 is a standardized, synergistic combination of Punica granatum fruit rind and Theobroma cacao seed extracts, which has been reported to increase serum testosterone levels in young and aging males. Methods: The present 84-day randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study assessed the efficacy of LN18178 on the sexual function of aging male volunteers (age: 40-70 years; serum total testosterone: ≥ 300 ng/dL). The subjects with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction [5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) scores 17-25] and low sexual desire (score < 3 on items 11 and 12 of IIEF) participated in this investigation. ⋯ The participants' hemato-biochemical parameters, urinalysis, and vitals were within the normal range. Conclusion: LN18178 enhances sexual function, libido and improves psychological well-being, as well as neuromotor function and general well-being in aging males. LN18178 supplementation is safe and well tolerated by the participants.

Studies evaluating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and sexual functions after holmium laser enucleation of prostate (HoLEP) are very limited. ⋯ HoLEP is an effective method that can be used safely and effectively in the treatment of LUTS due to BPH. While both storage and voiding functions of the patients improve, there is no worsening in erectile functions, but deterioration in ejaculation functions can be observed.

Utilizing network pharmacology and molecular docking, we evaluated the possible pharmacological mechanism of Danggui Sini Decoction (DGSND) for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). DGSND's chemical components and targets were found utilizing the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP). Disease-related genes associated with ED were identified through GeneCards, OMIM, TTD, DrugBank, and DisGeNET databases. ⋯ Molecular docking revealed that beta-sitosterol exhibited the lowest binding energy with BCL2, indicating a more stable structure. This study demonstrates that DGSND's compounds stimulate NO synthesis and reduce inflammation and cell apoptosis to improve ED by acting on AKTI, ALB, IL6, TNF, TP53, and BCL2. The findings show that DGSND's compounds These findings offer a valuable scientific foundation for further understanding the mechanism of DGSND in treating ED.
