The causal relationship between gut microbiota and COVID-19: A two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis.
Recent studies have shown that gut microbiota is associated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, the causal impact of the gut microbiota on COVID-19 remains unclear. We performed a bidirectional Mendelian randomization. ⋯ This study provides a basis for the theory of the gut-lung axis. Further randomized controlled trials are needed to clarify the protective effect of probiotics against COVID-19 and the specific protective mechanisms. This study has important implications for gut microbiota as a nondrug intervention for COVID-19.

Ectopic pheochromocytomas in the third trimester: A case report and literature review.
To investigate the clinical features, pregnancy care, timing, and approaches of pregnancy termination as well as the perinatal management of pregnant women with ectopic pheochromocytomas (EPCC) (paragangliomas, PGL). ⋯ EPCC (PGL) during pregnancy is a rare extra-adrenal tumor, whose manifestations are often confused with those of pregnancy-induced hypertension. It is extremely hard to diagnosis the disease before surgery. Patients still have an opportunity of undergoing spontaneous delivery if their tumors have been removed before labor. However, for patients whose pheochromocytomas is localized before labor, it is better to terminate their pregnancy via cesarean section in a proper time according to their obstetric conditions, while under the supervision of multidisciplinary specialists. The preparations of both α and β adrenergic receptor blocker treatment that is normally carried out before PGL removal surgery are unnecessary to be overemphasized before the cesarean section.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) poses a substantial public health challenge. This review examines the intricate relationship between psychological stress and CAD, drawing from recent research spanning the last 5 to 10 years. The literature review is organized around critical themes. ⋯ The review concludes by distilling key takeaways for healthcare professionals and researchers. Practical implications are explored, and lessons learned from the research process are reflected upon. The conclusion also suggests avenues for further study in understanding stress's impact on CAD.

Radial nerve palsy in the newborn combined with congenital radial head dislocation: Case report and literature review.
Radial nerve palsy in the newborn and congenital radial head dislocation (CRHD) are both rare disorders, and early diagnosis is challenging. We reported a case of an infant with concurrent presence of these 2 diseases and provide a comprehensive review of the relevant literature. The purpose of the study is to share diagnostic and treatment experiences and provide potentially valuable insights. ⋯ If a neonate exhibits limited extension in the wrist and fingers, but normal flexion, along with normal shoulder and elbow movement, and is accompanied by skin lesions around the elbow, there should be a high suspicion of radial nerve palsy in the newborn.

Knowledge mapping of prodromal Parkinson's disease: A bibliometric review and analysis (2000-2023).
The prodromal period of Parkinson's disease (PD) is currently a hot topic in PD research. However, no bibliometric analysis has been conducted in this research field. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the status, hotspots, and trends in the prodromal period of PD using bibliometrics. ⋯ Studying the nonmotor symptoms of PD precursors is a major topic in this research field. This is the first bibliometric study to comprehensively summarize the research trends and developments in the prodromal period of PD. This information identifies recent research frontiers and hotspots and provides a reference for scholars studying the prodromal period of PD.
