Nasal spindle cell tumor: A case report and literature review.
Spindle cell tumors are rare and can occur in any organ or tissue. Due to their rarity the clinicopathological features and diagnostic protocols have not been adequately studied. However, it has become necessary to develop differential diagnosis of spindle cell tumors. Here, we report a case of a nasal spindle cell tumor diagnosed at our hospital in attempt to contribute to this gap in literature. ⋯ The results of this case emphasize that spindle cell tumors have large morphological variations, and it is difficult to determine the origin of tumor cells using hematoxylin and eosin staining alone. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the immunohistochemistry and combine it with clinical symptoms to diagnose the disease.

Adrenomyeloneuropathy manifesting as adrenal insufficiency and bilateral lower extremity spastic paraplegia: A case report and literature review.
Adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN) is a variant type of X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy, and it is a genetic metabolic disease with strong clinical heterogeneity so that it is easily misdiagnosed and underdiagnosed. Moreover, most patients with AMN have an insidious clinical onset and slow progression. Familiarity with the pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment of AMN can help identify the disease at an early stage. ⋯ The clinical manifestations of AMN are diverse. When patients with adrenocortical dysfunction complicated with progressive spastic paraplegia of lower limbs are involved, AMN should be highly suspected, and the determination of very long-chain fatty acids and genetic testing should be performed as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis because early treatment can help prevent or delay the progression of the disease.

Interventional treatment of giant tracheal lymphoma under rigid bronchoscopy: A case report and literature review.
Lymphoma can appear in all parts of the body and present with different symptoms. However, bronchial lymphoma is rare and can be misdiagnosed as airway malignancy or lung disease.Patient: An older adult woman with tracheal lymphoma experienced severe breathing difficulties, and chest computed tomography indicated severe narrowing of the airway. She did not respond to repeated antibiotic treatment, and she was eventually diagnosed with lymphoma based on pathology after surgical removal of the tumor. ⋯ Endoscopic interventional therapy can be an effective treatment for tracheal lymphoma.

Biodegradable microneedle acupuncture has equivalent efficacy to traditional intradermal acupuncture for dry eye disease: A pilot single-blinded, randomized controlled trial.
Dry eye disease (DED) is a common ocular disorder in which the tear film cannot maintain homeostasis. Acupuncture has been used to treat DED in Korean medicine. Particularly, intradermal acupuncture (IDA) is less painful and enables free movement after treatment. However, it can also provoke allergic reactions to metal. To overcome this, biodegradable microneedle acupuncture (BMA) has been developed. This study compared BMA with traditional IDA in terms of efficacy and safety in patients with DED. ⋯ BMA and IDA had the same therapeutic effect for improving DED and both were safe. BMA can be used in patients with DED as an alternative to traditional IDA.

Childhood Trauma and Somatic and Mental Illness in Adulthood—Findings of the NAKO Health Study.
Childhood trauma is associated with somatic and mental illness in adulthood. The strength of the association varies as a function of age, sex, and type of trauma. Pertinent studies to date have mainly focused on individual diseases. In this study, we investigate the association between childhood trauma and a multiplicity of somatic and mental illnesses in adulthood. ⋯ Childhood trauma was associated with a higher probability of developing mental as well as somatic illness in adulthood. As childhood trauma is an element of individual history that the victim has little to no control over, and because the illnesses that can arise in adulthood in association with it are a heavy burden on the affected persons and on society, there is a need for research on these associations and for the development of preventive measures.
