Clinical impact of JOABPEQ mental health scores in patients with low back pain: Analysis using the neuropathic pain screening tool painDETECT.
In patients with low back pain (LBP) who combine psychosocial factors with clinical findings of pain, there is a possibility that the psychosocial factors modify the pain. In the current study, we investigated the relationship between the Japanese Orthopaedic Association Back Pain Evaluation Questionnaire (JOABPEQ) mental health score and the characteristics of LBP. ⋯ We found that psychological factors may modify pain intensity and may lead to an exaggerated or histrionic presentation of the pain, or neuropathic LBP may be exacerbating psychological factors.

To provide an overview of a multisociety effort to formulate appropriate use criteria for image-guided injections and radiofrequency procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of sacroiliac joint and posterior sacroiliac complex pain. ⋯ Physicians and payers can access the appropriate use criteria portal on the Spine Intervention Society's website and select specific clinical indications for a particular patient in order to learn more about the appropriateness of the intervention(s) under consideration.

A retrospective study was conducted to clarify the risk factors of postoperative low back pain (LBP) for low-grade degenerative spondylolisthesis. ⋯ LM IMAT and symptom duration were risk factors for postoperative LBP. Patients with severe LM IMAT reported more severe LBP before the operation. Postoperative LBP disappeared more often in patients with shorter symptom duration.

Reliability, Stability and Validity of the Brazilian Adaptation of the Oliveira Questionnaire on Low Back Pain in Young People.
The objective of this study was to adapt the Brazilian version, and verify the validity, reliability and internal consistency of the Oliveira questionnaire on low back pain in young people. ⋯ The Brazilian version of the Oliveira questionnaire on low back pain in young people showed valid and reliable cultural adaptation, with good reliability and stability.
