Overall survival with sacituzumab govitecan in hormone receptor-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative metastatic breast cancer (TROPiCS-02): a randomised, open-label, multicentre, phase 3 trial.
Sacituzumab govitecan demonstrated significant progression-free survival benefit over chemotherapy in the phase 3 TROPiCS-02 trial in patients with pretreated, endocrine-resistant hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HR+ and HER2-) metastatic breast cancer with limited treatment options. Here, we report the protocol-specified final analysis of overall survival and endpoints by trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop-2) expression and other variables. ⋯ Gilead Sciences.

Most neonatal and infantile-onset epilepsies have presumed genetic aetiologies, and early genetic diagnoses have the potential to inform clinical management and improve outcomes. Centrifugation-based autotransfusion devices only salvage red blood cells while platelets are removed. The same™ device (Smart Autotransfusion for ME; i-SEP, France) is an innovative filtration-based autotransfusion device able to salvage both red blood cells and platelets. The authors tested the hypothesis that this new device could allow a red blood cell recovery exceeding 80% with a posttreatment hematocrit exceeding 40%, and would remove more than 90% of heparin and 75% of free hemoglobin. ⋯ In this first-in-human study, the same™ device was able to simultaneously recover and wash both platelets and red blood cells. Compared with preclinical evaluations, the device achieved a higher platelet recovery of 52% with minimal platelet activation while maintaining platelet ability to be activated in vitro.

Multicenter StudyMore than two courses of consolidation therapy pre-transplantation benefits patients with acute myeloid leukemia in the first complete remission who underwent human leukocyte antigen-matched sibling allografts: a multicenter study.
Although the need for consolidation chemotherapy after successful induction therapy is well established in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in first complete remission (CR1), the value of consolidation chemotherapy before allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation remains controversial. ⋯ Our results indicate that patients with AML in CR1 who received MSDT might benefit from pre-transplant consolidation chemotherapy.
