A Cross-Sectional, Multicenter Study Examining the Validation and Adaptation of the Chinese ROWAN Foot Pain Assessment Questionnaire.
The 39-item ROwan Foot Pain Assessment Questionnaire (ROFPAQ) has affective, cognitive, and sensory dimensions to evaluate chronic foot pain. However, to date, the ROFPAQ has only been validated in English and Spanish versions. A simplified Chinese version of ROFPAQ is still not available, even though China has a large population of patients with foot pain. ⋯ The ROFPAQ-C can be used as a valid and reliable tool for chronic foot pain in the Chinese population.

Transcultural validation of a French-European version of the Prescription Opioid Misuse Index Scale (POMI-5F).
The Prescription Opioid Misuse Index scale (POMI) is a brief questionnaire used to assess opioid prescription misuse. In view of the increase in the prescription of opioid analgesics for chronic noncancer pain (CNCP), this tool is particularly useful during medical consultations to screen opioid misuse in patients using opioids. We sought to generate and validate a French-European translation of the POMI. ⋯ We generated and validated a French-European translation of the POMI scale, POMI-5F, for use by French researchers and physicians to identify opioid misuse in CNCP patients.

Multicenter StudyPredictors and Consequences of Prescription Opioid Use in Women Living With and Without HIV: 20-Year Follow-Up.
Objective: To examine predictors and consequences of prescription opioid use among a cohort of women living with HIV (WLWH) and women without HIV from 2000 to 2019. Materials and Methods: The Women's Interagency HIV Study is a multisite, prospective cohort study. Cumulative proportion of visits with prescription opioid use was categorized as follows: minimal (0%-9%), intermediate (10%-39%), and chronic (>40%). ⋯ Findings underscore the need for non-opioid and nonpharmacological interventions for chronic pain, particularly in sexual minorities and WLWH. Avoiding concurrent use of opioids with benzodiazepines and nonprescription drugs might reduce mortality. Clinical Trial Registration Number: NCT00000797.

Living with endometriosis: Comorbid pain disorders, characteristics of pain, and relevance for daily life.
Pain plays a central role in endometriosis. The complex relationship among pain characteristics, comorbid pain disorders and daily life represents a challenge for medical support. This multicentre cross-sectional case-control study analysed the association between endometriosis-related chronic pain and functions of daily life in 510 women with endometriosis, 265 (52%) who experienced chronic pain, either from endometriosis alone (N = 134, 26.3%) or in association with additional pain disorders (N = 131, 25.7%). ⋯ The study provides an accurate overview of the impact of endometriosis-associated pain on daily life. This is important because pain plays a central role in women living with endometriosis, and despite modern therapies, many women continue to suffer from chronic pain. The detailed analysis of its impact with a comprehensive survey of all aspects of daily life in a very large study population is unique. We expect an improved understanding of consequences of pain to significantly advance medical support in these patients.
