Although existing studies have identified some genetic loci associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) susceptibility, many variants remain to be discovered. The aim of this study was to further explore the potential relationship between IL18R1 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and COPD risk. ⋯ Our study provided a reference and basis for investigating the association of IL18R1 polymorphisms with COPD risk.

A genetic case-control study. ⋯ SNP rs10738445 were significantly associated with brace treatment effectiveness. The other four SNPs were not significantly associated with the outcome of bracing. More SNPs and predictors should be included in future study to develop a more accurate predictive model for clinical application.

To analyze the prevalence and influencing factors of stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (SIPWNVAF), and to provide a reference basis for the prevention and control of stroke. ⋯ The stroke group is significantly more burdened by other independent common risk factors for stroke.

Retrospective case-control study. ⋯ We identified large L5-S1 lordosis as an independent risk factor for recurrence of pediatric lumbar spondylolysis at L5 following conservative treatment. Intensive athletic rehabilitation to prevent recurrence and follow-up measures to monitor and detect recurrence are recommended for patients with large L5-S1 lordosis.
