COVID-19 vaccination-related headache showed two different clusters in the long-term course: a prospective multicenter follow-up study (COVA-Head Study).
Although acute headache following COVID-19 vaccination is widely acknowledged, the long-term progression of these headaches remains poorly understood. Our objective was to identify various phenotypes of prolonged or worsened headaches associated with COVID-19 vaccination and document any changes in these phenotypes over an extended period. Additionally, we aimed to document the diverse headache presentations among patients with pre-existing primary headaches. ⋯ The identification of two distinct phenotypes of prolonged or worsened headaches related to COVID-19 vaccination can provide valuable clinical insights. Having an awareness of the potential worsening of headaches following COVID-19 vaccination, particularly in patients with a primary headache disorder such as migraine, can help clinicians and headache experts anticipate and adjust their treatment strategies accordingly. This knowledge can aid in preplanning treatment modifications and optimize patient care.

The incidence of diabetes in childhood has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Elucidating whether SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with islet autoimmunity, which precedes type 1 diabetes onset, is relevant to disease etiology and future childhood diabetes trends. ⋯ In young children with high genetic risk of type 1 diabetes, SARS-CoV-2 infection was temporally associated with the development of islet autoantibodies.

Characterising biological mechanisms underlying ethnicity-associated outcomes in COVID-19 through biomarker trajectories: a multicentre registry analysis.
Differences in routinely collected biomarkers between ethnic groups could reflect dysregulated host responses to disease and to treatments, and be associated with excess morbidity and mortality in COVID-19. ⋯ Clinical biochemical monitoring of COVID-19 and progression and treatment response in SARS-CoV-2 infection should be interpreted in the context of ethnic background.

Neuroimaging findings in 4342 hospitalized COVID-19 subjects: A multicenter report from the United States and Europe.
To determine the incidence of acute neuroimaging (NI) findings and comorbidities in the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19)-infected subjects in seven U.S. and four European hospitals. ⋯ This multicenter, multinational study investigated the incidence and spectrum of NI+ in 37,950 hospitalized adult COVID-19 subjects including regional differences in incidences of NI+, associated comorbidities, and other demographics. NI+ incidence in TN was 1.16% including 0.95% in the United States and 2.09% in Europe. ICH, encephalitis, and ADEM were common in Europe, while ischemic strokes were more common in the United States. In this cohort, incidence and distribution of NI+ helped characterize the neurological complications of COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccine in hemodialysis patients: Time for a boost.
To evaluate anti-spike immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody levels of hemodialysis patients and correlate them with the patients' demographic data and to evaluate these patients' need for a coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) vaccine booster. ⋯ The results show a dose-dependent association between IgG antibody levels and the number COVID-19 vaccines received. The study highlights the need for booster COVID-19 vaccination for patients on hemodialysis.
