Rabeprazole Coadministration Controls Ulcer Recurrence in Patients on Low-dose Aspirin Therapy: A Multicenter Prospective Study.
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of rabeprazole coadministration with low-dose aspirin (LDA). Methods From 2015 to 2018, we conducted a large-scale, multicenter, prospective observational study to assess the safety and efficacy of treatment with rabeprazole (5 or 10 mg/day) in combination with LDA. Results The incidence of adverse reactions was 0.73% (11/1,513 patients), with no serious adverse reactions. ⋯ The cumulative recurrence rate of ulcers by Week 52 (Kaplan-Meier estimates) was 3.50% (range, 1.56-7.75%). No gastrointestinal bleeding was reported. Conclusion Rabeprazole in combination with LDA appears as safe and effective in real-world situations as in clinical trials.

Crizotinib efficacy and safety in patients with advanced NSCLC harboring MET alterations: A real-life data of Turkish Oncology Group.
Crizotinib is a multikinase inhibitor, effective in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring mesenchymal-epidermal transition (MET) alterations. Although small prospective studies showed efficacy and safety of crizotinib in NSCLC with MET alterations, there is limited real-life data. Aim of this study is to investigate real-life efficacy and safety of crizotinib in patients with advanced NSCLC harboring MET alterations. ⋯ The most common adverse effects were fatigue (50%), peripheral edema (21%), nausea (29%) and diarrhea (19.4%). Grade 3 or 4 adverse effects were observed in 6.5% of the patients. This real-life data confirms efficacy and safety of crizotinib in the treatment of advanced NSCLC harboring MET alteration.

A multicenter prospective study of the treatment and outcome of patients with gastroduodenal peptic ulcer bleeding in Japan.
Gastroduodenal peptic ulcers are the main cause of nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB). We believe that recent advances in endoscopic techniques and devices for diagnosing upper gastrointestinal tract tumors have advanced hemostasis for UGIB. However, few prospective multicenter studies have examined how these changes affect the prognosis. ⋯ All scores predicted refractory bleeding similarly. Although endoscopic hemostasis for UGIB due to peptic ulcer had a favorable outcome, old age and severe comorbidities were risk factors for poor prognosis. We recommend that patients with UGIB should undergo early risk stratification using a risk scoring system.

Transcranial Motor-evoked Potentials for Intraoperative Nerve Root Monitoring during Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery: A Prospective Multicenter Study.
A prospective, multicenter study. ⋯ Nerve root injuries in our ASD cohort were partially predictable using multichannel Tc-MEPs with a 70% decrease in amplitude as an alarm threshold. We propose that future research should evaluate the efficacy of an idealized warning threshold (e.g., 50%) and a more detailed evoked muscle selection, in reducing false negatives.

Follow up of pain reported by children undergoing outpatient surgery using a smartphone application: AlgoDARPEF multicenter descriptive prospective study.
In pediatric patients, pain remains the most common complaint after surgery. This French multicenter epidemiological study (AlgoDARPEF) aimed to evaluate the use of a smartphone application (App) to assess the duration and severity of pain experienced by children undergoing outpatient surgery. Children younger than 18 years scheduled for an elective outpatient procedure in one of the participating centers were eligible. ⋯ This study shows that inviting parents to use a smartphone App to assess and report the quality of postoperative management in pediatric patients provides useful information. A continuous report regarding pain and adverse events over a 10-day postoperative period by a self-reporting or parent's contribution is possible. Future studies should investigate the ability of live data collection using an App to ensure fast, efficient interactions between patients and physicians.
